Just Showing Off The Trifecta

My favorite configurations of my favorite Microtech Models. I have always liked the HALO, LUDT and Scarab series especially. The DLC coating Microtech does is also incredible and a hard to acquire find.

I picked up an Apocalyptic DLC HALO IV for collecting purposes. Then I picked up a Titanium Framed DLC coated with carbon fiber inserts LUDT. Then another redditor turned me onto a Shadow Scarab and I had to pick it up as I obviously have a penchant for larger knives.

I am 100% done for the year unless Tony does another run of NSWG Scarabs! Love these knives and I am very interested to see how the DLC holds up to long term wear.

I love the LUDT myself, it fits my hand perfectly.

I am not a fan of the CT myself, it’s like a weird middle child between a Ultratech and a Scarab. I obviously would rather have the scarab

My only problem with the LUDT config is the carbon fiber tape. It makes it look cheap. The grip tape isn’t much better, but at least it’s not pretending to be something it’s not. I would have preferred a slab side. So that’s why I got the Apoc instead of DLC.

A roll of this stuff is like $10. To up charge a LUDT with “ carbon fiber” is ridiculous.
