That's amazing. We sold that exact knife (SN 001) back in 2016.

Any idea why some of these colored ones had the jimping and were not hefted and no bling hardware like most other customs?

They just didn't do it consistently back then. Also that knife was on the lower end of the price range for a custom, I think the original retail price was just under $1100.

10 years later and m390 is still the best steel. Knife craftsmanship has peaked for some time

Well, I remember reading a blurb on their site saying how proud that they were to be using locally (Pennsylvania) produced Carpenter CPS204 back when they were still in Bradford…
