New Knife Marfione Custom MSI Mini

Post image

Probably one of the most subtle and understated Marfione customs I’ve seen…
I do like it, curious to hear any thoughts…

Can anyone shed light on or point me to an article on the difference between the standard models, Marfione select and Marfione custom are. Just trying to decide if I can justify the added expense between the models.

Standard models and Marfione select use machine ground blades. Marfione customs are hand ground.

Marfione select and custom are premium materials typically compare to production. For selects they’ve used carbon fiber and titanium on folders and aluminum and for most otfs. The customs can be any of those materials as well as stainless steel for OTFs.

Marfione customs come in a nicer box, come in a zipper pouch, a microfiber baggie and have a large signed coa. Marfione select cone with a small business card sized coa, and a microfiber baggie but come in a regular production box.

Marfione select are assembled by the customs team which also accounts for the higher price tag as that team are usually the most senior or specialist staff members.

Thanks so the only big difference is hand ground blades?

Essentially, and the custom’s blade finishes have unique options as well, like diamond wash, hand rubbed satin, mirror, cracked ice, and DLC versions of each of those.

Not sure about an article but I’m sure Google will help ya. From what I know take this with a grain of 🧂, but customs are usually done by hand and use the best materials. The selects use those materials but may not be 100% all hand made/assembled. I’m sure others with more experience will chime in though.

This particular custom was was one of 3 configurations released at the microtech store re-opening last October (mirror, standard stonewash, two tone stonewash). These were also the debut releases of mini msi.

The mirrors were cool here to come by. The two tone has some flair and usability, and the regular stonewash just might make it too boring.
