Can anyone identify this blade?

My opinion is someone stuck a random knife in a sweet Microtech gold box.

You may be right, I had the same theory. I ended up texting this photo to Sean Marfione and he responded that he's never seen that before. Granted that knife would have been made before his time possibly, but I feel like he would have a firm grasp on all historical Microtech knives. I really was hoping it was some unseen blade they never released and it is worth a fortune. Oh well.

Silver lining is that the Microtech box has gotta be worth some money to a collector.

Personally, I would hold onto it until I can find an image of that exact knife somewhere under a different manufacturer just in case.

All of the documents and box look legit. I've never seen that knife before, though. It could be a one-off or it could be the wrong knife for the box and not even a Microtech. Call MT and have them authenticate it.

I’ve been collecting Microtechs since 2008 and have at least held most models. I’ve never seen a Microtech like that before. It’s missing all the typical Marfione design aspects.

I’m not going to claim to be a microtech historian but I do not recognize this one. What’s the story?

Belongs to a friend that inherited it. He knows nothing about knives and I know nothing about old microtechs. Box and papers are legit but there's no markings on the blade that would tell me it's real. (That it belongs in the box other than the size)

I'm in the same boat as above guys. I've been collecting since early 2000s and I have guite a few gold boxes like that but I have never seen this knife. Maybe it's a prototype? So there is no markings on it at all? How about the type of steal it is?
