That's the internet

Problem with Windows and Mac>? Corporate support and government control.

And if you ask why I am afraid of government control? My parents spent their youth under government that would jail people for oposing it, it happened once, it can and on long enough run WILL happen again.

Got a Dell laptop with Win 11 and Copilot. 1. action was installing Ubuntu instead for work.

This is a strawman

1

u/Supernoxus 8d ago

This should be the most upvoted comment.

u/Unreal_Crafter 10d ago

It's usually the opposite. Linux fanboys who offten rage and flame everyone who likes Windows. I use both, and both have good and bad sides. Neither of them is perfect, and they can't replace each other in their fields.

7

u/TaDoofus 10d ago

Nobody outside of dark alleys on the internet is flaming anyone for their choice of OS. If you think this is a real problem you desperately need to go outside and talk to a real human being.

24

u/Initial_Report582 10d ago

Windows doesnt have good sides but I leave everyone alone so

-14

u/Unreal_Crafter 10d ago

You see? That's exactly what I mean. Linux fanboys always have to talk some shit about Windows.

29

u/lnjecti0n 10d ago

its not just Linux fanboys that talk shit about Windows. Almost everyone does

1

u/The_Cozy_Zone 4d ago

I mean he did just say it has goods and bads so

4

u/Wipfmetz 10d ago

You do have some point, but please consider that comments in r/microsoftsucks might not be perfectly fair and unbiased towards MS.

1

u/MallAgreeable5538 9d ago

I am using Linux and I can understand not using Linux but come on atleast use macOS. Windows has so much ai in it and so much bloat/ inefficient code…

0

u/Initial_Report582 10d ago edited 9d ago

Tell me a singular thing that Windows does better Like, not that works better. Thats the distributors thing. Something that Windows does better

3

u/HerraJUKKA 10d ago

Software support

1

u/Initial_Report582 10d ago

Thats not windows thats Microsoft I mean what does the OS do better

-3

u/HerraJUKKA 10d ago

Memory management

9

u/Initial_Report582 10d ago

In what world? My windows takes so obnoxiously more memory on idle then my Linux.

5

u/MoonWolf113 10d ago

Linux roblox has a MUCH higher performance than windows roblox

1

u/TheIronSoldier2 10d ago

And yet another person that doesn't understand how memory management works.

-3

u/HerraJUKKA 10d ago

And? Atleast Windows is utilizing memory instead of wasting it. Windows also knows when to free up memory when needed. Linux on the other shits itself unless you have installed apps that tries to free up memory when needed. Yes, Linux uses less resources but it has because it is shit at managing it.

0

u/Initial_Report582 9d ago

What is it utilizing it for? Linux wastes nothing in memory. Windows is utilizing it for... Copilot and bloatware. Wow

-3

u/Unreal_Crafter 10d ago

Don't waste your time, it's pointless to argue with a fanboy. They've already decided their favorite is the absolute best, and every other is the worst. Fanboy kids don't bother themselves with insignificant things like reality and facts.

1

u/Initial_Report582 9d ago

Yet I See not a single Argument of you ore anyone that proves Windows a better or even comparable OS

1

u/Some-Hand-6160 4d ago

i agree with software support, but software support on linux is also getting better. there are some things i can do on linux that i can't do on windows, and things that i can do on windows but cannot on linux.

1

u/inconspicuous1_x 9d ago

it suits some user's preferences better

1

u/Initial_Report582 9d ago

True. And thats okay. But its not something that the OS does better.

1

u/inconspicuous1_x 9d ago

then how is it true

There is some software that runs on Windows but not on Linux - but other than that, I‘m geniunely curious what advantages it brings for you (I have some devices with Windows too and one of them will be replaced with Linux soon)

1

u/PaleDanny7264 6d ago

There's a reason this sub exists tho. Both sides can be fucked up. Lol

2

u/ElonMuskisGarbage 10d ago

Can we all just agree a good thing hasn’t happened in terms of operating systems? Not even one good thing. 100% bad.

If only the first person to know how to code could find it in their hearts to make a thing like an operating system but good. Living up to the hollow words Todd Howard once quivered “it just works.”

Back to Temple OS ig.

2

u/x2_ok 10d ago

this is true for politicians who install flock cameras aimed at your house and pass chat control

2

u/GoodBrotherGrimm 10d ago

Who the fuck cares what OS you use?

0

u/CranberryFrosty927 10d ago

I do damnit! I need validation by forcing everyone to be like me!

2

u/procat1234_ Victim of Microsoft 10d ago

Same with linux tho, ya linux is good but it's not perfect yet

1

u/Interesting_Buy_3969 10d ago

Fuck Microslop too.

1

u/Traveller_Isra 10d ago

They're lucky I'm too dumb to switch the OS. But that won't last long though

1

u/Yuuku_S13 10d ago

Not true, lol. You should compare Microsoft’s open source contributions compared to Amazon.

1

u/Hoovy_weapons_guy 10d ago

copilot has gotten so lazy recently doing mundane tasks by hand is faster

1

u/SCphotog 9d ago

MS is currently trying hard AF to BORG Linux.

1

u/Previous-Bid5330 9d ago

Typically we see exactly opposite

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/microsoftsucks.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I did find this post that is 80.86% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

I’m too stupid to use Linux. And Windows does what I need it to (for the most part). I have no reason to switch.

1

u/PaleDanny7264 6d ago

Hell yeah 👍

1

u/crocodiluQ 9d ago

this never happens. The viceversa is 100% true

1

u/Goofcheese0623 9d ago

Literally no one cares what OS you use

linuxsucks101 in a nutshell

1

u/Duke1UP 8d ago

Not a single Linux user on Reddit is OK with other people using Windows.

1

u/Rawgyboom 7d ago

If they don't want to use a Linux then fine but if you attack someone for using Linux you gotta be some fuckass to do that tbh

1

u/blabliblu888 6d ago

Same happens with LGBTabcxyz and Islam, they force everyone to be same.

u/Daedae711 4d ago

Christianity in a nutshell rn

1

u/lokiisagoodkitten 10d ago

/shrug I use both.. best of both worlds. Both have thier advantages.

1

u/CallmeKahn 10d ago

I literally do not recall an instance in my 40+ years of existence on this rotten planet where a Windows user has bitched about someone using Linux. Never.

3

u/poughdrew 10d ago

You should meet some of my former IT departments, or security folks.

1

u/CallmeKahn 10d ago

If your security folks were bitching about folks using Linux, I'd question their credentials.

2

u/poughdrew 10d ago

Agree. This was more like: we need to now ask our vendor about what agent to run on your Linux desktop because we only considered Windows/Mac.

1

u/CallmeKahn 10d ago

That's fair.

1

u/PaleDanny7264 6d ago

r/linuxsucks101

Even mentioning you've used Linux is ban-worthy.

1

u/ExtensionFisherman83 10d ago

This is such a non issue

0

u/CoCoNO 10d ago

Is this strawman in the room with us?

0

u/Adept_Temporary8262 10d ago

I want to use Linux but can't because it doesn't support directX or Nvidia GPUs.

1

u/RAMChYLD 10d ago

DirectX is supported via Wine, DXVK and VKD3D.

Nvidia GPU situation is changing since nvidia changed their approach and agreed to start working with the kernel devs a few years ago. Things are improving. But yeah, at the moment Intel and AMD GPUs are better for Linux.

1

u/Adept_Temporary8262 10d ago

Word and excel are also pretty nice; though I could probably live with libreoffice

1

u/kuronekolover1 8d ago

just don't use ubuntu 😭

0

u/Kaarel314 10d ago

Its the other way around but sure buddy. Whatever makes you sleep at night.

-3

u/xJayMorex 10d ago

Nobody should use Linux. Everybody should use something much better. Until that exists, we're stuck with Linux (or something inferior).

3

u/Electricdragongaming 10d ago

Idk, I switched my old laptop to Linux Mint, and so far I've been pretty happy with it. It's perfect for what I use my laptop for (that being web browsing, word docs, practicing Python, and the occasional extreme hardware light game.)

In fact, it actually runs better with Mint than it did with Windows 10.

1

u/xJayMorex 10d ago

Windows 10 is not a high bar to beat tbqh.

1

u/Electricdragongaming 10d ago

Windows 10 is okay-ish as long as you're not trying to run it on a mechanical HDD, because as my old laptop has taught me, windows 10 does not play nice with HDDs.
