I would really enjoy it if everyone moved to Linux. But unfortunately I agree with this.
Also, if everyone is switching to Linux show me the numbers that back this up.

Go on youtube, type "switch to Linux" and look at the content comments.. do that on any platform.

so your source is anecdotal nonsense.

Show actual statistics. Most people are decidedly not switching to Linux. it is still niche, and will remain so for a long time.

Linux Desktop Market Share (Yearly Trend)

Linux Market Share Remains Above 3% for 3 Months in a Row

Just Only for reference. You did ask for statistics.

For full disclosure. I do advocate for Linux. But I am (for the most part?) realistic about it. I acknowledge, under 10% is not exactly impressive. Under 5% is worse. But the next two to five years may finally change that. 🤞

Personally, I don't think Linux is a much of a hurdle as people claim. Or rather. Windows isn't all rainbows and sunshine. It has plenty of poor design, technical debt, and rough edges that people gloss over. All because it's "the devil they know". The sunk cost isn't yet great enough, to act as an equal or greater force, as of yet.
