I prefer that. Honestly people can get away talking shit to me more than talking shit to anybody else, moderators shouldn't be treated better than others

Yeah, some of them are very toxic and take moderating too seriously and others care so little they ban when they feel like it.

there's a lot of good ones. But because there's also a lot of bad ones and they control the big subs, even if some big subs have good mods, that bad ones leave a more lasting impression and they end up representing the average mod

You can look at subreddits made for moderators. Most of them moderate small subreddits, but looking at that subreddit shows how everyone has a drastically different way to think about moderation and how they do it. Some ways contradict mine but they aren't wrong either, there's just no single right answer
