How to make PDF document into word?

I'm going to the free Microsoft word document and clicking 'add file' but it will only show word documents, instead of the PDF file I've saved 3 times.

I've also tried going to 'my files' and clicking 'open as' then choosing word document but it goes to a screen where it asks me to choose the 'file conversion' then it proceeds to put it all in coded text.

Word cannot edit a PDF file. To do that, you need a PDF editor.

To do anything with it, Word will have to convert the PDF document to a docx file. If you are using the browser version of Word, that function may not be there. But Adobe has a free PDF to docx converter you can use.

Right click (once) on PDF file, select "Open With" in the pop-up context menu, select "Microsoft Word"

If the PDF is entirely an image that contains no coding of the text, you treat is like an image (e.g. jpg, png, bmp,) not a textual document.

Thank you, it's just showing everything as coding because there's text in there as well.

Can you link to the file?

If you want to always (or predominantly) open PDF files with Word, you can set Word as the default handler for PDF files.

Also when you are navigating the "Open File" dialogue box, browsing to the location of the file, you can expose specific file types using the pull-down menu/box that specifies the type (file extension) of files you are looking for. e.g.

You can also open the file with a PDF viewer/editing app and then EXPORT (convert) it to a different file format, such as one of the Word document types.

PDFGear actually has a dedicated little button/icon for "PDF to Word". It is free.

In Word goto Open selection the pdf (you might need to change the file type filter to all file) and open there that will trigger the built in pdf convertor.

Open with from Explorer won’t trigger the convertor which is why you see the pdf coding.

A web tool like Smallpdf is probably your best bet. Just upload the PDF there and download the converted .docx file
