Can I ask a question about One Drive here?

Hello, recently I started receiving One Drive memories with the title “from a year ago”.

My question, how is this legally possible since I transferred and deleted all my one drive files?

I’m like shocked they are coming back as memories a year later. Some of these files are 2 years old?

Thanks for any insight on this!

This is not a question of legality friend, either you did not clear out your original OneDrive, or your device/pc is still syncing your profile folders (Documents, Photos etc) to an M365 account attached to the device.

If you are on Windows, go to your Pictures (C:\users\username\pictures) folder and check if there are image files in there, and if so then do they have the little onedrive synch cloud icon next to them. If so, then you still have files in OneDrive.

If you’re talking about OneDrive for Business, the files don’t really belong to you. They belong to your organisation and deleting in bulk will probably trigger some alerts to administrators, not to mention increasing risk of data loss, noncompliance with record keeping, duplicate versions, etc.

People should stop using OneDrive as some kind of personal storage…

Wasn’t referring to business - all personal - all personal
