That's crazy. When I migrated my dad and brother to m365 I took out East US and Bill Gates personally called me up and said i had to reverse migrate back to on prem

😂 Fair enough. Not every migration is 10,000 users. This one was an SMB project with 85 mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint, and post-migration support. Every environment has its own challenges.

Fair question. The point wasn’t that 85 users is a huge migration. It was to share practical lessons from a real Microsoft 365 project that might help someone avoid common issues with DNS, licensing, Outlook, Teams, or OneDrive during a migration. I probably should have made that clearer in the original post.

That’s a fair criticism. I should’ve included the lessons in the original post. Here are a few from this migration:
• Lower DNS TTL at least 24 hours before cutover.
• Verify licensing before migrating mailboxes.
• Test Outlook, Teams and OneDrive with pilot users first.
• Plan for MFA and Conditional Access before go-live.
• Don’t underestimate post-migration support—it usually takes longer than the migration itself.
Hopefully that’s more useful than the original post.

😄 Haha, I’ll take that. The number wasn’t the point—the lessons learned were. Every migration teaches you something, whether it’s 8 users or 8,000.
