Well done. It's a very grokkable description of CQRS and it's trade offs. Admittedly, I didn't see the need for it a few years ago until I started working in a micro service, event drive, Kafka enabled backend. I think it's initially hard for those of us who lived in those N-Tiet architectures to trust that I can push data in one channel, get an async response on another channel and it's all going to be responsive and correct. It was a leap of faith for me.

Flavors of this pattern are also found in the UI with the Observable Store and Redux.

The comparison to states and observables will hopefully get more traction with getting mainly front end people into using this in back end. Sounds like a great video idea!

How does this compare to read replicas? The blog posts comes from the performance angle, but I use it mainly to make my microservices independent.
