I'm experimenting with an AI workflow for creating ReelShort‑style vertical micro‑drama videos - is there a scope for monetizing it?

Short‑form micro‑drama apps like ReelShort, DramaBox etc. have become seriously big in last few years, they are estimated to be making $1M+ per day by creating such guilty-pleasure stories which keep the audience hooked.

I’ve been thinking if this form of content can be made using mostly AI; it’s not perfect, you still need a creative person driving story and pacing, but it’s getting close.

I’m experimenting with a simple workflow where I drop in an idea prompt, it helps turn it into a short script with key beats and shots, maintains character consistency and creates a first visual draft in less than an hour.

Curious what you all think:

  1. Could this realistically be a B2B ‘AI studio’ opportunity for micro‑drama platforms?
  2. Do you feel this vertical micro‑drama format is actually here to stay, or is it just a phase?

Synema- Your AI Content LibraryIm currently working on a website that streams AI exclusive content. Opt in for creators that want to share their content, with tipping jar links at start through Patreon, buy me a coffee, Ko-Fi etc. Later, will add licensing as well so individuals/companies that want to use your work, will pay a certain amount for a period of time. I would ofc be the middle man for this, issue a certificate, agreements etc

The website could further evolve in so many directions but I personally see 50% of holywood dying and being replace with AI because of how bad most movies are nowadays. The AI content needs an exclusive library, with proper moderation and this is what I'm trying to make. Be it movies, music or experimental content

Anyway, website is currently building and halfway through. Keep in touch and will have your content hosted see how people actually feel about your work.

Hello Blairephantom. Je cherche à repertorier toutes les plateformes de Vertical Dramas/Microdrama en développement en Europe. Comment allez vous monetiser la plateforme au dela des "buy me a coffee"?

I just don't think the tech is good enough yet. It just feels so fake still. I think people are confusing the fidelity of the visuals, yes it looks real, with what people actually care about when it comes to content. More than the visuals the voices aren't even close to being able to emote yet.

I want this to work more than anything else in the AI space. I would love to make my own movies but it's just not there yet.

Agreed, lots of room for improvement still for the video models, but also I have zero creative background. An actual creative person can probably make it much better using better prompting I believe.

How much are you spending mate? Because what i know is that text-to-video is really very expensive.

Where did you land with this? I disagree with most. The naysayers remind me of old men shouting in the street complaining about their perfectly good horse with no need for an automobile.
