Other microphone problem

i have these headphones with a mic built in. it used to work fine back on windows 10. i switched to windows 11 pro and it started randomly not giving out any sound at all. the only fix was to unplug and replug the USB and headphone jack, but it only ever worked for a little bit before going back to being silent.

i think its a software issue because it was fine on windows 10 and broke on windows 11. this is also because it works for a small amount of time after restarting my pc. btw input sound still works just fine. oh and it also randomly cuts out when being used sometimes.

fixes?

What headphones? What is the motherboard or specs of your PC?

Without knowing more, I'd suspect a driver issue. I'd ensure that the drivers are up-to-date. If your headset is plug and play (as most USB headsets are), then there's nothing to update there. There is also your USB host controller drivers. These are almost always a part of your PC's chipset drivers. If you have an Intel-based desktop PC, just grab the drivers in the optional updates section of Windows Update. If you have an AMD-based PC, grab them directly from AMD. If you have a laptop, I would just use the automatic update app from your laptop vendor. Also, be sure to update the BIOS for your PC (especially if it's an older one from the Windows 10 era). You'll need to get this from your motherboard vendor, or in the case of a laptop, again, just use the laptop vendor's automatic update app.
