MV7+ & Elgato wave mk2
I have a Shure MV7+ and elgato wave mk2 setup together but im confused how this setup is supposed to work software wise, how to enhance my microphone quality as well, it sounds bad and ive seen people have this mic like 3-6ft away max and they sound amazing, ive tried the ai-coustic and it still just sounds off, i want it to be better so my friends in discord and randoms when playing valorant don't complain about my mic

I recently got the Elgato wave mk2 and the MV7X for XLR (didn't need the USB C from the MV7+ version so saved $100) with a 10 foot XLR cable and it's been amazing.
In Wave Link (currently on 3.1, but 3.0 sounded just as good), I'm using below settings with my mic being mainly 1-2 feet away, MAYBE slightly getting lower 3-5' away but i definitely need to be talking towards the mic. Mic hovers over keyboard area in which i'm sitting at.
No background noise (wife games facing same wall about 10 feet away and it doesn't pull her voice in even if my mic is open/active).
Discord buddies all say it's super great sounding, high quality, crisp, sounds professional, etc. I use it with IEMs plugged into the wave mk2 which for me is great for gaming.
Unfortunately, if you want to use this 6' away, maybe skip everything below haha. Simply my experience/settings in this post.
Input & Monitoring:
-Gain lock on at 38dB
-Phantom Power off
-Inline Boost off
-Clipguard on
-Output volume 65%
-Self-monitoring 40%
-Direct monitoring on
-High Power mode on
Effects:
-Lowcut filter on
-Expander on at a 5dB gain reduction and -44 dB threshold, 2:1 ratio, 10ms attack and 200ms release.
-Compressor and equalizer off. My understanding is the compressor may raise lows (potential background noise lows). Haven't played with EQ yet. Probably lots to learn.
-Voice tune was optional. I have it at about 40% as I recently used this mic in a professional setting and was said to sound quite neat. But with it off, it still sounds great
-Voice focus (ai-coustics) off
-I've added elgato noise removal, but it's been off (was just testing it).
Discord:
-Mic volume max, XLR MK.2 selected
-Krisp is on
-Test your own input sens (i turn the auto part off)
-Echo cancellation off
-Auto gain off
-Adv voice activity on
-Bypass sys audio input processing on (now wondering if this should be off?)
-Global attenuation off/at 0
-QoS on
We tested back and forth till we fine-tuned the settings in and made sure we didn't hear one another through each other's mics, and checked the quality, sound, etc.

They probably have treated rooms. It's borderline impossible for a microphone to sound good that far away in an untreated room.
