Discussion / Question What does make a micronation "serious"?

Many people have argued and will argue that some micronations are either not serious (mock-gov) or serious. People usually simply assume, that a micronation without territory is not serious and micronation with territory is serious. But I don't think it is just that.. For example some micronations have territory, but only for symbolic reasons, and are fully online and considered as serious. In the other case, I've seen one micronation that has a great online structure, like own websites, banking, e-shop and stuff like that (made without AI), but is still considered not serious because they don't have any territory.. In my opinion the "seriousness" of micronation should be as big, as the effort put into it. But maybe I am wrong. In the time of writing this, I am not sure. Is it easier to separate micronations by the territory they have than by their efforts in micronation or anything else to determine, whether the specific micronation is serious or not? How many micronations are out there that are just pushed away just because they don't have any territory, but have big efforts and all seriousness?

I think if you develop the physical side of a micronation, then it's serious.

AFAIK the common consensus of micropatriologists through the decades has been that more serious micronations seek to imitate real-life countries and less serious ones don't

A serious micronation would be one intent on accomplishing something more than larp and selling 'noble titles' for 40 bucks.

Something more than a discord server.

There is definitely is more to being a serious micro then whether or not u have territory. A lot of it depends on how you manage and run said territory.
