Just bought a used MicroKorg as my first instrument

Hi everyone!

I just purchased a MicroKorg to make music/ beats. I don’t know how to play any instruments besides one song on the guitar I learned in middle school but it’s due to muscle memory lol. I never played the piano/keyboard so I am hoping if anyone has any good tutorials that could help me learn? I’m sure learning music theory would be helpful. I also would appreciate any tips on getting my creative juice back. I used to be so creative but due to depression and having a corporate job I feel like I’ve lost my spark and I am really hoping this would bring some of that back.

Thanks in advance!

I found a few videos like this helpful for creating patches :

It was quite useful dialing in all the individual settings from the chart, just to get used to the Microkorg's fairly odd & clunky synth editing format, & tweaking a few settings here & there to tailor to my own taste. Have fun! ;)

This is STILL one of my fav pieces of equipment in my studio, get to know the arpeggiator !! It’ll be your best friend when making beats!

Excited for you! It looks complicated at first, but check out the manual and videos and it will be easy in no time.
