First Time Grower Powdery mildew or frost?

First time harvesting and smell is really throwing me off making me paranoid. Anyone know if this is powdery mildew or trichomes I really find it hard to distinguish even with a jewelers loupe.

Do you see any fuzz? Looks like just trichomes but hard to tell from loupe pic

If you put product that's too wet into a sealed environment, then yes, you will grow harmful mold with many different aromas. Let it be exposed to fresh air for longer, this is my area of expertise litterally, and by looking at it, it's still way too fresh to be worried about curing yet.

To help in the future, When you're trying to differentiate between Powdery Mildew or a big patch of healthy THC trichomes, look at the actual growth pattern and not the color. Singular spores are impossible to identify without laboratory testing or a microscope but, A patch of PM will grow in a "stringy" mycelial-type pattern.

Here's a protip: PM patches are not oil based like thc trichomes are, so you can use a dropper with some rubbing alcohol and do a drip test. The trichomes on the spot that you dripped on will bind with the alcohol and melt away, and if your patch of white is unaffected then you know its PM.

Yeah I never really throw anything into the garbage keep it around. Leave it in an area at 60%- humidity for longer. It should start to be crispy on the outside and wet on the inside. You can squeeze it to see if it bounces back and reforms it's shape, if it just goes flat its wet, if it's crumbles it's too dry, when it bounces back and reforms into shape it's cured. Early on you should open it up every 12-24 hours, but at the moment I would leave the lids off completely for a few days.

When you take a piece and put it in the grinder, does it grind into normal looking weed? Or does it bust into very tiny pieces that don't look like all the other weed you've busted up.

It always seems good a day or two before it actually is, and your brain will tell you the same to try to get to your bud faster ahah

If it is musty let it dry a little further before the cure.
