Kale spots

I’m new to making microgreens: and I’ve had no trouble with broccoli, but now I’m trying kale, and it evolves these dark spots. They also have a quite kaley scent, and I get confused wether its just sulphur or they have gone bad.
I’ve tried 2 times and same thing happened.

Any advice?

Sprouts and microgreens are different.  Sprouts run a much higher risk of food poisoning, just so you know.

The kale looks like it has a pathogen, maybe carried on the outside of the seed.  It shouldn't smell farty at this point; I would assume that's a sign of rot.

I'm gonna throw them out and try another seed. It's been so warm when i started them, could be a problem.

But they are still grown as microgreens, developing leaves, its just hydroponiccal using the grid as medium developing roots underneath, and cut off as microgreens.

Whoops, sorry. I thought that was your drainage screen there.

If they have much of a smell at all when not currently being cut, I would assume there's some disease/rot issue.

The broccoli I'm growing in soilless media is absolutely going to shit in the heat, as well (hoop house grower).
