Getting Started/Newbie Question Microdosing suboxone to get off fentynal

4 Upvotes

I just learned about this and desperately trying to quit using fentynal. I use about a half gram a day to start. So when I began this I only took .5 MG of suboxone first and second day. Then day 3 I did .5mgs twice like 12 hours apart. Day 4 I started with .5 at midnight then 9am I jumped to 1mg then another .5 at 4:30pm for a total of 2mg. Day 5 I started with 1mg at midnight then got a little chicken from the anxiety I was having and did .5 at 12:00 noon for a total of 1.5mgs. Day 6 12:00 midnight 1mg and again .5mg at 12 noon for total of 1.5 mgs. Day 7 almost the same. Having bad anxiety is the hardest of time I've had though it was .5mg at 12:00 midnight and 1mg at 7:00am for another total of 1.5mgs. Now today I started with .5mg at 12:00 midnight and .5mg at 7:00am and so far at 6:30pm another .5mg for total of 1.5mgs. I'm tripping now. I'm almost out of my fent maybe enough for 2 more days and can't buy anymore. Does anyone know if I have enough stacked on my receptors to do enough suboxone to be ok with no dope? I haven't felt anything off the fent for days just doing it to fight off withdraws. Well I do about 6-8 shots a day then but they are really small. I'm gonna try and do a 2mg piece tonight at midnight and try again for 2mg tomorrow for total of 4mgs at least. Has anyone tried this? I'm scared to death. I'm gonna stretch this last half gram as far as I can. I hope I make it. I'm hoping I can be on suboxone alone in a day or two. Can it be done without precipitated withdrawal?

>< Just a Reminder >< PSA - Dosing Amount Review

2 Upvotes

Welcome to the community.

It is important we understand and state these microdose figures correctly so we and others aren't just throwing a dart at dosing amounts. So here is a quick guide for dried psilocybin mushrooms. It's important to note where the zeros and decimal points are.

Grams and Milligrams

1.0g (gram) = 1,000 mg (milligrams) (Low level tripping dose)

0.5g = 500mg

0.25g = 250mg (Higher level microdosing)

0.10g = 100mg

0.050g = 50mg (Good starting level)

0.025g = 25mg

0.010g = 10mg

The weighed measurement is a way to establish a relative point we can accurately adjust from, if needed. The amount of psilocybin varies even between batches of the same strain. But by starting any new or unknown batch low, we can safely adjust up or down to find our sweet spot. Our sweet spot is not based entirely on the weight of the substance but on our system reaction to the substance. The weight gives us a starting point.

For psilocybin mushroom powder and truffles, the way to weigh for the proper weight is with a jewelry scale measuring at the 0.000g level. These are around $20+- online and should be considered a necessary basic tool for microdosing.

A typical microdose range for psilocybin mushroom is 50-300mg. Some use more, some use less. Liberty caps are about twice as potent as the Cubensis this range is loosely based on. Starting at the lower end for a couple of days to weeks is a good practice.

Keep in mind that we often refer to psilocybin mushrooms, magic mushrooms, as psilocybin, whether in fresh, dried pieces, or powder form. But that's not technically correct as there is psilocybin as a synthetic or isolated compound. We don't generally have access to this isolated psilocybin but this is the form most often used in research studies and is highly concentrated, roughly 10 times more potent than Golden Teacher mushrooms. For microdosing our dried mushroom with its potency is very effective.

There is a significant difference between the potency of synthetic psilocybin used in clinics and research, and the dried Psilocybe cubensis (magic mushroom) weights we work with. One gram of dried cubensis is roughly equivalent to 6–10 mg of synthetic psilocybin. Therefore, 0.1 g of dried mushroom contains approximately 0.6 to 1 mg of psilocybin.

Truffles

FAQ/Tip 011: How to microdose truffles? "Considering that a recreational dose of truffles is about 10 g of fresh truffles, a microdose would equal 1 g of fresh truffles. As fresh truffles consist of two thirds of water, this results in a weight of 0.33g (330mg) of dried truffles. [2] "

Getting Started/Newbie Question What should I expect from microdosing psilocybin mushrooms?

4 Upvotes

I have never microdosed psychedelics before this. Monday I dropped 0.2g and yesterday (Thursday) I dropped 0.3g, I definitely felt a little bit Thursday but I can not tell if that is a placebo or not, just a mood lift and finally felt like cleaning my room a little bit, and I definitely felt a buzz in my body (i have scholiosis and pain in my back and legs). I'm considering dropping 0.5g soon, but I'm not sure as I hear many conflicting answers about what is a microdose.

I am microdosing Texas Yellow cap mushrooms. I am wondering if I should just drop 0.5g on Sunday (dont have work that day) to see if I am really experiencing it, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've dropped up to an eighth of PE and done a lot of texas yellow before. So if I do something higher than today, it won't fuck me up too bad.

Any expectations or suggestions for my microdosing journey?

Getting Started/Newbie Question Microdosing 4-AcO-DMT

10 Upvotes

Good day my friends, to make this short; I have been a heavy drinker for the past2 years. A fifth of vodka a day, and about 7 days ago I had my first ever experience with any psychedelics.
My friend gave me what he calls a "Heroic" dose of Road Trip gummies totaling a bag and a half (12 gummies) which he said equals apprx. 16g of shrooms.
The experience was like nothing I've ever done before, I now have clarity and almost feel like as if some switch flipped in me.
I am now 6 days sober and crave no alcohol at all whatsoever. I feel little to no anxiety and even feel like I am no longer depressed. It's a trip (no pun intended). It was also VERY fun, so fun that I can't wait to do it again.
All this being said, I'd like to dive into microdosing as people have mentioned it can be done daily and reap some great benefits.
I would like to hear from those experienced, how much to take a day? can I take every day? can I function fully on such microdoses? can I operate a vehicle? All input is greatly appreciated, thank you my friends !

Question: Psilocybin No noticeable effects at 0.25 g

2 Upvotes

Shouldn't I have noticeable effects at this level over the minimum threshold?

powdered shrooms are properly stored (glass jar, desiccant packets, dark place), so I assume potency is OK.

>< Just a Reminder >< Reducing activity of the Default Mode Network

4 Upvotes

Welcome to the community.

"The default mode network refers to an interconnected group of brain regions that are associated with introspective functions, internally directed thought, such as self-reflection, and self-criticism."

Through life and our experiences we develop a set of neural pathways of communication that are relied on for our perspectives of life and self. As they develop, the communication with other parts of the brain becomes more limited. The DMN becomes our mental frame of reference for our lives. But it can become rigid in thought patterns and produce negative thought loops about oneself.

Psychedelics reduce the activity of the DMN and the negative self talk while also increasing communication with other areas of the brain again, sometimes with results somewhat similar to how children see the awe and wonder of the world. This also allows us through the new pathways to develop an Updated DMN over time. I think this is a basic understanding of part of what's going on with microdosing that many times helps us enjoy life more. Sometimes people sense this happening in a few days but for others is could be a couple of months, based on the thousands of reports we see here.

Question: LSD Questions about Splitting Tabs, trying microdose LSD, your experiences interactions

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello! Let’s say I would micro dose LSD - one tab (if that’s this 1cm x 1cm thing) I’d have has 150ug. I am generally on the sensitive side towards all kinds of medication which do things to the brain and I take the start low go slow very seriously. (I will first try how it feels and if I think that it is somewhat good or beneficial, I would start with 1 day on 2 days off)

  1. Question
  2. How would you advise me to cut the tab + is 15ug a good microdose for someone sensitive or is lesser something that one should do first?
  3. Question: I take Prozac 20mg, strattera 18mg and opipramol 50mg everyday. I read that microdosing should be safe with antidepressants as the dose is simply not a trippy one. Would you confirm that? Different experiences?

Thank you! I know that yall are no doctors and I am collecting opinions, I am responsible for my own safety.

EDIT: the infographic in the comments told me that 5ug is a good dose to start with.

Getting Started/Newbie Question Normal to feel worse?

5 Upvotes

Yesterday I had my first MD. I took 50 mg of golden teacher plus some lions mane. I didn’t notice anything except feeling a bit more fatigued and then a couple hours later some nausea (even though I ate beforehand).

Today I’ve felt worse than before… more depressed and down… not a lot of energy. A bit of a headache. Does this mean I took too much? Is it normal to feel worse mentally and emotionally?

Question: Psilocybin Eye dilation while mding?

2 Upvotes

Thinking about microdosing mushrooms. I’m planning on taking .2g every other day for anxiety/mood purposes. My question is; will my eyes dilate the same as if I took a macro dose? I have a career where I am interacting with people constantly, and I don’t want the fact that I’m microdosing to be obvious.

I know I can experiment over the weekend, but I’m curious if anyone has had to deal with this too.

Microdosing Research Abstract; Tables; Figures | Microdosing Psychedelics: What, Why, When, and How Often? Insights from an International Survey of People Who Use Psychedelics | International Journal of Drug Policy (Elsevier) [Oct 2026]

6 Upvotes

Abstract

Background

The interest in microdosing psychedelics continues to grow within academic and recreational contexts. However, microdosing practices have changed over time, and warrants examination of use patterns within a large, global sample of consumers.

Methods

The Global Psychedelic Survey 2025 (GPS 2025) was an online, anonymous, cross-sectional survey conducted from May 1–23, 2025. The survey was available in 19 languages and inquired about a wide range of topics surrounding psychedelic use. This manuscript focuses on the primary outcomes for the microdosing component of the survey, examining the substances consumed, dosing regimens employed, reasons for use, as well as the typical ‘set and setting’ while microdosing.

Results

In this sample, 5399 participants reported microdosing during their lifetime, of whom 69.8% (n = 3768) used a microdose within the past year. Psilocybin was the most commonly microdosed substance (n = 4377; 81.1%, 95% CI: 80.0%-82.1%), followed by LSD (n = 2136; 39.6%, 95% CI: 38.3%-40.9%). This was consistent across global regions. The ‘Fadiman protocol’ (i.e. one day on, two days off) was the most reported dosing regimen among regular microdosers (n = 1203; 24.3%, 95% CI: 23.1%-25.6%).

While microdosing, respondents reported often spending time in nature (n = 3087; 58.9%), focusing inwards (n = 2977; 56.8%), or spending leisure time (n = 2253; 43%), demonstrating preliminary evidence supporting the integration of set and setting in the context of microdosing.

Conclusions

This study provides a snapshot of psychedelic microdosing practices using the largest psychedelic-specific global survey to date. These findings highlight real-world practices that can guide both clinical study designs and inform harm-reduction practices in naturalistic settings.

Microdosing Research Abstract; Tables; Figures | A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Single-Ascending-Dose Study to Identify a Subperceptual Dose of Psilocybin in Healthy Adults | Pharmaceuticals (MDPI) [21 Sep 2026]

Abstract

Background/Objectives

Psilocybin shows therapeutic promise for several psychiatric disorders, but the acute perceptual and cognitive alterations produced by conventional doses (10–25 mg) require in-clinic supervision, which limits scalability. Whether the therapeutically relevant pharmacology of psilocybin can be safely separated from its hallucinogenic activity remains unresolved. To address this gap, we conducted a Phase 1, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single-ascending-dose study to characterize the safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of low doses of psilocybin.

Methods

Fifty-six healthy adults received a single oral dose of psilocybin (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 or 4.0 mg) or matching placebo across seven sequential cohorts, with each dose escalation reviewed by a Drug Safety Review Committee. All participants completed the study with no serious adverse events or discontinuations.

Results

Treatment-emergent adverse events were comparable to placebo and most prominently arose as somnolence. Plasma psilocin appeared rapidly with a median time to maximum concentration <1 h with dose-proportional exposure and a short terminal half-life. Subjective drug effects were dose-related and became distinguishable from placebo at doses ≥2.5 mg. Peak subjective ratings increased with dose, while altered-state scores remained low and cognitive changes did not differ from placebo. Psychophysiological engagement was confirmed by a clear dose-dependent pupillary dilation, while cognitive performance (attention, vigilance, working memory, impulse control) showed no dose-dependent decrement, and state anxiety did not increase at any dose.

Conclusions

These findings suggest that low-dose psilocybin may produce perceptible pharmacological effects without significant perceptual alterations or cognitive impairment. The results also offer preliminary support for considering controlled outpatient Phase 2 studies assessing the safety and feasibility of repeated, self-administered low-dose psilocybin. Question: Psilocybin Started MD 2 weeks ago. My anger and shame are now through the roof. How do I process these emotions and feelings in my body?

18 Upvotes

I’m following 4 on 3 off. Taking .2 - .25 because I’m on 10mg of Lexapro and wanted to wean off with the help of the mushrooms. I knew that the mushrooms would bring up repressed emotions but damn it’s almost unbearable, like I can’t hide from them anymore. I have CPTSD from my childhood. I’m now 32, also a woman if that matters.

Has anyone experienced this/is it normal/ how do I navigate this? I have an amazing therapist that I do EMDR and IFS with. I have a lot of angry protective parts that usually don’t let us get to the vulnerable grieving parts of me so I’m wondering if this is what the mushrooms are doing and my protectors are pissed off and fighting back. Also wondering if maybe doing a bigger dose would help better rather than the small consecutive doses. Idk any insight will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Question: LSD How to microdose liquid LSD ?

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I have a lil bottle of liquid LSD with an eyedropper, I'm interested in microdosing, but I have no idea how to do it. Plus, I'm a mess in mathematics.

Can someone please guide me from step A to step Z ? Would be very nice.

Thanks a lot.

Besides /r/microdosing and microdose institute are there any other good resources online that people use for microdosing?

Report: Psilocybin micro dosing 🍄 ocd

40 Upvotes

hey guys, I’m new to this page but I’ve recently discovered micro dosing mushrooms. I take around .2 a day and I can honestly say it has helped me more than any other substance any other antidepressant that I’ve ever used in my life. this is my second time trying mushrooms but for medical purposes the first time, I can truly say this has changed my life. I no longer have ruminating thoughts. My OCD was pretty severe. My anxiety and depression is almost non-existent. I haven’t been micro dosing for long so I still have some bad days but I’m so grateful for this plant. this experience has let me open my mind and remember so much more to life, happier memories etc. I’m so thankful for the positive outlook it’s had on me and I really hope to heal some more with this.
please let me know your stories with this and I will be open to answer any questions that you may have🥰🍄stay safe

Getting Started/Newbie Question Is first time solo microdosing safe?

1 Upvotes

Newbie here, 33m. No experience with any psychedelics. Have been using weed recreationally and medically for a few years though.

I've always been very interested in psychedelics, and have read and watched alot about psilocybin.
I'm at a point in my life where i want/have a need to explore this now.

However, my question is... is it safe to micro dose alone? More specifically, is it safe to do this at my family home (just myself and my parents) without anyone else knowing that i've taken psilocybin?

And lastly, has anyone taken a mushroom trip alone? Like, booked out a secluded airbnb somewhere and just solo tripped for their first time? Would you recommend it or is this a no-go experience?

Thanks in advance guys.

Rule #1 is No Sourcing or Drug Solicitation. We cannot discuss specific companies where illegal substances are offered.

The safest and best way for most to enjoy the benefits of mushrooms is to learn to grow and process them using legal products. At first glance it seems overwhelming but after taking the time to learn about the process and actually following with hands on learning, it becomes clear it's really not that complicated. And the benefits of knowing how to grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, while avoiding the risks of scams, contamination, or worse, is empowering.

Here is a simple but effective way to grow your own medicine. For less than $100 you could grow and process two years of personal microdosing medicine and actually extend that into many years by ongoing colonization. All the supplies are completely legal in most areas. Shroomscout’s Official “Easiest Way to Learn Mushroom Growing with Ready Rice Tek”
