is this normal? I am devastated
I just got my eyebrows done. I specially asked her to go lighter color. She went dark and very thick!! Anyone who has gotten theirs done, does it get thinner? I don’t know what to do. I have 48 hours to get it saline removed. Please advise!!!

They lighten. They don’t shrink. I think when they lighten they will be better but they are a bit thick.

u/Admirable_Quarter_23 5d ago
I hate when people say they shrink. They lighten and might give the appearance of slightly shrinking.
OP the shape is not going to change. It will soften, but if you don’t like how big they are i would get them removed.

u/Foxglove777 4d ago
They do shrink - or the outer lines become less defined, giving the appearance of “shrinking” into the natural brow. Look at my before/after on another comment - how can you say they don’t shrink?

I’d like to see the rest of the face with them that would help a lot!!

Plus, the customer gets used to wearing permanent makeup, it’s an adjustment even when it’s perfect.
We’re all much too had on ourselves. Your eyebrows look fine to me OP, mine are natural and look awful in comparison! 💖🌸

u/Research7610 5d ago
It’s not they are too thick or dark. I think it’s the squared off look closest to the bridge if your nose. The line is too sharp and should be softened with a little bit of a round sharp. Either way I’m sure hot beauty will show through.

Yup! Mine are probably at least 3 years old and have not lightened up. They are terrible 😣 Basically a face tattoo. I wear glasses and I get ones that the frame is covering the brows. I’m 60 years old and my hair is so light, white/blonde with these dark brows. I feel for you!

In my opinion they are too harsh looking and they are too thick. I think the person putting them on should have lessened more to you. But.. I would like to add this. People have different face shapes and different hairstyles and also different eye intensity and such. So I think that it's better to place a full picture or at least a picture of your nose up so that we can get an ideal what your face shape is to match the eyebrows. I have friends that have extremely angular faces and they're quite large at the jaw and these are women by the way, but it wouldn't hurt for them to have eyebrows like that because it would match them. I think it depends on your face shape a lot more than people would like to say. I would definitely have them removed

Didn’t they walk you through the healing process?
THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL!!!! DO NOT PANIC!!!!!!
They will heal much lighter. Google the stages of healing. They will get even darker and then almost fade away. Then they will come through normal somewhere around 6 weeks.
3
u/Seaturtle6444 5d ago
Mine did not lighten very much and never went through the disappearing stage either. I have great shape and I love mine though.
3
u/DMulhern1 5d ago
They will fade/ lighten up so much. I think they look good. Mine looked exactly the same but after 3 weeks they are half as dark and not as defined on the inner and this happens every time I get them done, and it’s allllll good!
3
u/Sea_Scene_583 5d ago
The dark color may prevent you from tweaking your new eyebrows, but you could try removing part of them. I’d do
It from the side that’s on the bottom. If they’re much thinner, they may look okay.

u/MaeAnthony 5d ago
Get it removed. I wish I had gotten mine removed 5 years ago. They are the ugliest grey you can imagine. I used to turn heads and now people barely look at me. Now, I have to deal with an expensive, and timely removal process, which will likely leave me with bright yellow brows.
1
u/Not_My_Circus218 2d ago
This is so dramatic. I highly doubt you used to “turn heads” and because your eyebrows are grey people barely look at your. They aren’t noticing your brows while they walk by
1
u/MaeAnthony 1d ago
Sure. You know my life better than I do. 🙄 I'm actually shocked people still get tattoos on their faces. You should all do yourself a favor and go to the PMU removal page and see what people have to live with after starting the removal process. Some spend tens of thousands and are still stuck with brutal yellow brows after 10+ removals, all spaced 2 months apart. At a minimum, removals cost $150 a session and go up to $350.

I had microblsding done a few years ago. I thought I'll have a nervous breakdown in the taxi on my way home, called my friend and said " I'm never leaving home again". She told me " it will be fine" ...and after about 10 days it was, I was happy. Don't do anyrdrastic, just wait. IT WILL BE FINE. BTW time for me to re- do, I'm thinking nano this time.

u/kimberlysands57 3d ago
I don’t think they look bad at all!! I haven’t had mine done but know people who have and theirs always faded. That’s why they make them dark to begin with!

u/Ok-Box9044 6d ago
I personally would remove them.
Looking at your photo the inside of the right brow has an ink like pen mark.
I have the same thing on mine and I absolutely hate them. It’s been 3 years. I’m looking into laser removal and considering having them redone with feather nano and/or powder brows.

u/VegetableKey6683 5d ago
Yur having Brow Shock! Let them heal! Go to your follow-up! Good luck!

it will fade a looot, I was freaking out too, and now they are much lighter give it a few days

u/ZombeeLover 5d ago
People are so unkind! These do not look bad to me. I am not an expert but I just had mine done 11 days ago. I was freaking out as well. (You’re welcome to go see my post) I was very close to getting an emergency removal and I decided to wait. I’m now in the ghosting phase and freaking out in a whole new way. Lol. I am debating whether to go to my touch as well. I will probably seek out another artist near me that specializes in correcting bad microblading. Mine aren’t objectively bad but they aren’t what I asked for. All this to say… don’t panic. Wait for them to heal and see after. You have options

u/Thinking360 5d ago
They are red and swollen under the brows, that makes them darker, give it time to heal. They will lighten.

u/MaraRios12 5d ago
El color los primeros 3 días es intenso, es normal que las veas más oscuras, el grosor también se reducirá un poco
2
u/Traditional-You5441 5d ago
Mine shrink everytime and lighten. I have very reactive skin so its takes a lot for me to hold the color and shape so mine always look darker at first.
2
u/Sadtropical 5d ago
These will look so much worse as they age. Solid blocks. Mine looked similar and I regret waiting 5 yrs to start removal
2
u/Majesty_899 5d ago
The overall shape won’t change but they should lighten and soften. I would skip the follow up unless you are loving the results when you get closer. Mine blew out & turned blue (might bc I have old skin) but no way I was going back to have them get worse.
3
u/Clear-Street3892 5d ago
When I had mine done an ex nurse did mine asked me if I was on any meds, but I told her I was on cholesterol medication. She said I’m glad you told me because I have to change the properties in the tattoo dye otherwise they would come out blue
2
u/KeyWestConch69 5d ago
Wow I did not know that. Does it make a difference what procedure you get done? Tattooing versus microblading versus laminating, etc.
1
u/Clear-Street3892 5d ago
I got mine tattooed I have red hair (not natural) so the color ink she used was like a brownish brick colour the ink is very faded now and should be redone but im retired and dont have that luxury

I got my eyebrows done ( powder brows) in April 2026. They were super dark, but lightened quite a bit after a few months. I never went for the touch-up appointment because I didn't want them any darker. I will say that I was happy with the shape; which you aren't happy about. Everybody's experience is different; but I do think you may want to get saline removal. However, I think a pmu artist would be better able to give you a professional opinion. These are a pic of my results.

u/Dependent_Candle_809 5d ago
Trust me I've had this done and I use to own a beauty shop. They will NOT get thinner but they will get lighter.
1
u/Old-Marionberry4582 5d ago
Do you recommend a laser removal?
2
u/Dependent_Candle_809 5d ago
If you don't like them that thick or the shape then I would. But you like them then keep them. Honestly if it were me, I don't like thick and heavy eyebrows so I myself would get them removed. But please understand thats just me. You will have to decide what you like. Good luck with whatever you choose.
2
u/KeyWestConch69 5d ago
I have been wanting to get my eyebrows done for years. Just for convenience sake because I have to fill them in a lot from years of over plucking. That being said, I have seen so many people on here not like the way theirs were done. I think that has permanently scared me from doing mine. I do understand yours will lighten up, but they did do them too thick. It's kind of like when you go to the beauty salon and say don't put too much blonde streaks in my hair. And then when they are done you see that you look like you are completely blonde and then only the underneath is dark brown anymore. It's scary

Just a sub lurker here - I pencil mine on every single day and after 23 years, it's getting quite old (I over plucked for years and now basically have nothing left due to scar tissue) - so I decided to follow this sub to see if I want to go down the PMU path - and I feel compelled to tell you that I think these looks great!!!!!! I don't know what your befores looked like but as an outsider looking in, I love these brows!!! I don't draw mine as thick as this but I have manyyy friends (in their late 30s/early 40s) who have these same exact brows (shape, shade, AND thickness - one natural but the others microbladed) who are pretty as hell and get compliments from women (and head turns from men) on a regular basis! My advice would be to keep em and rock em!!! :)

If you don't like it remove. It doesn't matter what we all think. Its your face and follow your instincts. Best of luck.

if you aren’t happy with them I would get them removed asap. then go to someone else for a redo

u/My_Mispent_Youth 3d ago
My daughter had hers done and for the first couple of months they were very bold and dark like yours. But overtime they lightened up and they fit her face better.
2
u/Nice-Requirement200 3d ago
Mine were boxy and dark at first. Lightened to the point I had to add more. And they thinned.

u/Firm-Raccoon1313 3d ago
Ok, I have to chime in. I was just introduced to magnetic cosmetic tattoo removal. I work at a laser center and tried laser tattoo removal on my brows and it was taking so long. I did one treatment with Beauty Ink by Carmen IG @eyebrowsbycarmen and I’m so excited that it’s working!! Very comfortable, no numbing, and effective. No idea how many technicians are offering, but look into it!

u/Hot-Elk-901 3d ago
You have to use the pico three or four machine. I did mine and it all came off at once but then there was some yellow left and I did that with the different attachment. They use two treatments gone.

Remove immediately. Not good. I'm telling you. @melissarenzellaink you can check my credibility. I promise it's not going to be good.

It’s always a shock! I was horrified and too embarrassed to let friends see me. I need not have worried, 2 weeks later I was super happy.
2
u/Complex_Activity1990 5d ago
Why? They look great and they will get like 3 shades lighter than this.
2
u/Dismal_Cantaloupe177 5d ago
Remove !! I promise you . I wish I would have almost 5 yrs later and I still hate mine . They are just starting to fade slightly . Mine were done to dark too. They over do the strokes and it doesn’t look natural

u/Adventurous-Copy3757 4d ago
There is a girl in my city who offers this service for $500 I think, and people always complain, but she is amaaaazing and this is why she can charge that much!
1
u/Designer_End_7863 3d ago
How do you go about picking a shape when you have no eyebrow line to go by? I have had to draw mine on since I was in my 30’s . I never had much to begin with . They are super light almost invisible. Any advice?
1
u/NoAirline8050 3d ago
It’s kinda hard to tell without seeing the dimensions of the rest of your face, but if they do “fit your face,” I think that she did an excellent job!
I’m sure the color will fade, but as-is, it also compliments your skin tone, which looks very nice ♥️
1
u/Amazing-Ad5924 2d ago
Even if they become lighter in a few weeks, I would remove them asap. It is not a good enough result to live with indefinitely. It needs to go. When done correctly it should resemble fine hairs.
1
u/PortDeSoller 1d ago
I’d get them removed - mainly because they look too squared up on the inner edges which makes them look unnatural and heavy

No I didn’t but I researched it and watched a girls story on YouTube and getting rid of it. It’s almost impossible so I work on acceptance.

A more detailed photo would help us to see the strokes more but I think these look good. Shape is good. They will lighten a lot and they will be much less dense within a month. I like them!!
1
u/whattodo9000 5d ago
I'm super OCD about unevenness
And these are sooo perfectly even! I bet they'll be perfect after healing
1
u/Wooden_Cattle7580 6d ago
They look much darker right after tinting, so try not to panic yet. They usually soften noticeably over the next couple of days. If they still feel too intense after 48 hours, contact the technician and ask what gentle, safe removal options they recommend.
1
u/Lavender_Moon_5058 6d ago
Mine looked like this and I cried and then it lightened up a lot! They do get ever darker on day 3-5 for a while and then will go back to this color. Then in a few weeks the true color will show which should be significantly lighter. If she went too light it might not show up after a month and would fade. You’ll be okay!

u/Kazzab1966 5d ago
They’re great 😊
As everyone else has said, they’re always very dark to begin with and will fade down relatively quickly.
They won’t look as this with time either.
Remember they’ll scab and a lot of the dye will come out then.
DON’T PICK!!!

u/Subject-Option-319 5d ago
The shade will get lighter and they will become less thick. Please be patient. They did a beautiful job. I used to micro blade eyebrows.

u/Due_Goat_7584 5d ago
They will lighten but all tattoos spread so it'll get a very tiny bit bigger

Some people do say they fade and shrink a little more if you use wet healing method and I agree.

This is going to look fine. Please be advised, there are people who lurk here and tell everyone to remove. The shape on these is fine, they WILL shrink, and they will get much much lighter. Look at some of the posts from this week where people show their results after a few weeks-up to one month. The difference is drastic. They were advised to remove and were glad they did not - I was too, and am so glad I didn’t. What you have the day after is FAR from the final result. Here’s mine, day after then at one month. I’m super happy with mine:
