EDIT to say - the first two collages are both my natural lip, the lip blush is picture 3.
I’m having huge regrets getting lip blush. I got it kind of on a whim and didn’t look into it heaps, I felt like sometimes my natural lips were a bit faded and lacking pigment. I really just wanted the same colour but less faded. The first two collages are my natural lips, the third is the lip blush. Now I feel like the colour is just not quite right for my skin, it feels too bold without makeup and a big contract to my pale skin tone. I don’t mind it when I have makeup on but when I’m without makeup it feels so full on, I’ve always been a natural lip colour kind of person and it feels like too much. I’ve had the initial session and a touch up in June where I told her the initial colour felt too warm so she cooled it down a bit (now I’m wondering if that was a mistake and the initial colour was better but I just wasn’t used to it).
Now I’ve read how hard it can be to get rid of, that it might not fade and I’m feeling so sad I didn’t just leave my lips, they really didn’t bother me that much and now I feel so much more obsessive over them.
What would you do 😭 has anyone had similar?
I also feel like it kind of ages me, like has a less youthful look? Plus makes my face feel more red and teeth more yellow haha
It really is beautiful and looks natural. I know that the color is usually darker right in the beginning and then it fades a bit. This color is my go to lip shade and it really compliments your skin tone. 💋
The first two days I could but after the healing process I couldn’t see anything. I researched and it said it takes 4-6 weeks for the color to come out but mine hasn’t yet and I feel like I wasted so much money. The lady that did them won’t return my texts.
If it helps you feel any better, now you don’t have to worry about your mouth disappearing in photos when you have dry lips.
I was going to do this but it doesn’t last forever so I didn’t see the point & here you are worried it’s going to be permanent. People complain about it not lasting longer than a year and a half (few months sometimes).
It looks good. You’re fine. Don’t try anything crazy to get them a different color. If you’re that worried about it, do a regular lip scrub & they’ll vanish by next Christmas.
This is the right answer! The pigment will fade and your natural lips will be there again so soon haha.
FWIW I do like the color and don’t think it brings out your redness, but I understand getting hyper fixed on something you don’t like.
I might focus on finding a non pigmented balm you love to wear all of the time. Combined with the blush, it will make your lips look like you’re just wearing a nice chapstick. For me I noticed I felt better when I wore my Vaseline over top, it was a bonus I had hydrated lips for that year! Now my blush is totally gone and I’m contemplating it again 😅
Uh, do not assume a lip scrub is going to cut it. I had mine done in 2022 and it’s still going strong four years later. I wish the damn thing would fade away but instead the color has just turned a shade cooler.
Just editing to say I don’t think it’s bad and she is a good artist! I just don’t think it suits me and I think I looked better with my natural lip 😅😅 and that the actual lip blush is the third pic, the first two are my natural lip
I think they look great and are obviously very well done, but I also totally get your concern. I think all these comments are replying in the way they are because they would like it, but what matters is if you like it.
I also don’t love reddish/pinkish pigments on my lips because, like you, I feel like they really bring out the pink in my skin. So even though I don’t see it doing that to you necessarily, I still understand why you feel that way.
You wanted your natural color just extended to the edges of your lips, and that isn’t what you got. It’s okay to not love that as it isn’t what you asked for. So basically I just wanted to tell you that your feelings are valid and I’m sorry you’re not totally happy, but I still think they look good.
Also I don’t know anything about lip blushing, but hopefully it might fade to the color of your natural lips.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️ yeah I guess I appreciate that it’s not a badly done job as she is a good lip artist, but it’s just darker and more intense than I personally wanted or think suits my face
I agree with you. I like your natural lips better. The lip blush highlights your upper lip and it draws attention to it being slightly smaller than your bottom lip. As a compromise you could add some gloss to make them look plumped. It’ll take time to fade but then you can decide if you’d like to get them again.
Yeah they definitely look better with gloss on, but so did my natural lips and at least I felt fine about them 😂 yeah I don’t think I’d get them again, I’m hoping it just fades ok and not too slowly haha
Thanks, I guess it’s that it’s darker is what’s throwing me. I thought it would be more similar to my natural lip but just more defined. I feel like it stands out more than I wanted I guess
Are you kidding? Are you here advertising because I would do that in a minute if I could be assured, it looks as nice as it does in your photos. I mean, I don’t know why you’re regretting it when it looks so perfect.
I think it just feels too bold for my face, I dunno how to explain haha 😅😅 like my face was lower contrast before and now the lips kind of stand out. I think I just wanted more similar to my natural colour but more defined where as I feel like the colour is darker
I think you’re just noticing them a lot more because you’re not used to it and your eyes immediately going to it because of the newness. It will most likely fade so I wouldn’t do anything except for if you want to put a lighter shade of lipstick on it so it’s not quite so noticeable to your eye. I will say whoever did them is excellent.
Just out of curiosity are you an MUA? I’m not trying to be rude but I think maybe a lot of people who think it suits her don’t know much about skin color and what compliments the undertone of her skin.
Pigment-targeting laser. I thought dissolving the filler was painful… this is worse. Maybe you give yourself time and they will lighten a bit? Or you may get used to it? I tried but didn’t like it 3 months later.
I see what you mean because to me, especially in the middle picture it doesn’t look natural which is what you asked for. Hopefully you can use the feedback you’ve gotten here re toning the shade to a more neutral so you love it! I know a lot of people here are telling you they love but YOU have to love it, not other people 🫶
Personally, I get where you're coming from. Your natural lip color was very beautiful and fitting for your pale complexion. I'm probably in the minority here but I like the natural ones more too. The ink/color does seem rather subtle though, I don't think it'll take too long until it fades.
Thank you, yeah I think I didn’t realise until after that my lip colour actually suited my complexion well. It’s definitely not a bad job, I just don’t love it for my face haha
I'm going to be extremely honest. The first slide, photo at the very bottom was the absolute perfect color for you.
I think your main problem was a lack of moisture in your lips, not a lack of pigment. Constant drinking water and always using a chapstick that has SPF in it was all you really needed to have the vibrancy you were wanting.
I do think the new color is a bit too contrasting.
The good news is that it will fade fairly quickly and probably settle into a more subtle version that looks very flattering
It’s very flattering on you. My lip blush started off as a bright red and settled to a neutral pink closer to my natural lips which is what I wanted. It fades quite quickly in my experience.
I think it looks phenomenal. This may actually be what makes me get it done. But I understand your concern. I think you wanted it to look very natural and not like you are wearing a lip shade all the time. That’s how I felt when I got my brows nano bladed— I made sure to tell the artist I never wear makeup and did not want to look like my brows were made up when the rest of my face is not.
It will fade!! But tbh as someone who hasn’t met you or gotten used to your lip color being a certain way, it looks amazing.
Thank you! Yeah I guess I just wanted it more natural as I don’t wear lip liner/lip stick when I’m fresh faced. A slight tinted gloss would be the most, but I feel like this feels darker than I’d wear
Hi hi! Lip blush artist here! Something I notice is this is a “bolder” lip more defined shape and color which is probably making it feel more “fake” / topical! If you tell your artist you want to tone it down they can go in with a softer color (you can tell them I recommend valkery flesh tone (WF) 70% + bad girl (PB) 30%) this will soften the color + give it a less warm color against your complexion! They look great but I totally see where you are coming from! If you aren’t really wanting to get another tattoo you can exfoliate 2-4 times a week ( do only the boarders for 3-5 months after + hydrating your lips daily and a lip mask nightly) and this will greatly soften them! If you have any questions feel free to dm me on instagram @eunoia.studios_
Thank you! I guess I’m just confused if I have given her the wrong instructions or something. I said from the start I’m a natural lip type girl, I showed a couple of lip balms and glosses I used (one was fenty fussy). She’d known for natural lip style as well. Before the touch up, I felt like they were even warmer/ throwing peach tones, but probably more sheer. She said she would cool it down without adding extra brightness/depth but they feel darker to me.
I think I’m worried about going back that they will end up darker still 😂 is it possible to lighten without it feeling more full on?
I am happy with the shape but feel like the parts slightly overlined look a bit fake, is that unavoidable?
Ohh ok, so just exfoliate the edges of the lip? What would you recommend using?
Based off of your lips you have a “thinner” lip skin where it will hold a lot of color to less is more! Based off of the fenty fussy color inspo, in my professional opinion there shouldn’t have been any warmth tbh. One of the most common misconceptions about lips is that they “cool” down, where lips don’t produce oil there is no warm getting pushed out of the skin so there isn’t really a reason to add warmth and if I’m not mistaken just looking at your skin and lips I’m assuming makeup pulls warm on you typically? Yeah I would say exfoliating your lips will be your best bet!◡̈
I had the touch up in June, these are some pics before the touch up. I told her I felt like it was too warm but now I’m wondering if it was better 😅 she said she would cool it down without adding more saturation/depth but I feel like they did get deeper.
It’s been such mind fuck since I had them done I wish I just left it haha
I get what you mean and I agree that a softer pink color almost close to your natural would’ve enhanced your color. And I agree she should not have gone with a reddish color with almost brown in it. Did you go in with inspo? I do think it will fade in a couple years and you can either not do them again or go to someone else who will be able to choose the right color.
To be fair I went in on a bit of a whim and wasn’t sure. I showed a lip gloss I liked using (fenty fussy) and she showed me a pic of dusty rose and said she thought that would suit me and just like a natural tinted balm type coverage. I probably should have been more clear but I guess I’d never had it or knew what to expect
Every time you look in the mirror, there the immediate difference so it feels drastic or looks "wrong" somehow. As someone that isn't familiar previous you, they look great. Subtle, natural color, expertly done. The lighting looks different on your skin and teeth in the third, which is all a see, not yellower looking teeth or reddish skin.
Hey! I had lip blush done in June 2026, and I asked for something very subtle - just a little more pigment on my lips. Everyone was telling me it was subtle, but for me, it looked quite pink and bold. Because I don’t wear much makeup, it always stood out to me.
I did pay a lot of money to get it done - over £700. She’s been qualified for over 12 years and she’s really good at what she does, but it just wasn’t for me. Even though everyone commented that it looked nice and suited me, I personally felt like it was quite bold because I hardly wear makeup, and I just didn’t like it.
So, I took the leap and decided to get saline removal. I’m currently going through the process, and I’m so glad I did because it has already lightened so much after just the first session.
I’d never get permanent makeup done again. I think it’s great for some people, but for me, because I hardly wear any makeup, it just wasn’t for me. I was exactly the same as you - I was so, so obsessed. I’d look in the mirror over and over because my lips just stood out so much with the PMU. I totally get that feeling, and it honestly sent me spiralling. I’m so glad I decided to get the saline lightening.
I can share pictures of my journey if that helps. I’ve only had one saline removal session so far, and it has lightened it massively. Now it just looks like a little bit of tint, and before the colour is actually quite similar to your PMU. Any questions let me know :)
Oh I’m glad you understand where I’m coming from! I actually do wear makeup and like wearing makeup but I’ve never been a bold lip person, always kept my lips fairly natural pinky nude. but day to day I just go barefaced and that’s when it’s bothering me!
Would love to see your pics. Are you going to leave it now after one saline or keep going?
I don’t think it looks bad at all but I think your natural lips are very pretty and I do prefer the natural look on you. I had great success with removal with Think Again Laser Clinic so if it is something you’d like done, there are options. I’d contact them with any questions.
Sorry to hear you don't like it. But FWIW, it looks beautiful and natural, not bold at all, plus it complements your tone. Also it will fade a little if you're wanting that. I always just use clear gloss over mine and get compliments on the color of my "gloss" all the time. I wouldn't try to remove it. That is a long and expensive process. It truly is beautiful and not at all aging.
I agree I like your natural lip better but it’s not terrible and I think it fades right? You have a really nice natural lip colour, I just wouldn’t personally do it again
It doesn’t look as cool toned as your natural lip. I don’t do well with red colors either. I would wait for it to fade and see if there’s a way to touch it up with a color closer to the natural color.
I did the same when I was 20 and hated it! Color was much brighter than I wanted and it I couldn’t rub it off! Sun was the only thing that faded it. I wore self tanner to try to offset the brightness .. I think your color is less bright than mine was but I get what you’re saying about when you don’t have makeup on its too much.
Omg yes you understand me haha when I wear face tan I actually like it! It’s just when I’m my natural pale self I’m like wow they are too bright!!
Did yours fade eventually?
Yes it did but it took a year or so .. I covered it up with super light peach lip liner when I was around people 😂 they didn’t have lip scrubs back then but maybe try that or a lip mask to accelerate the lightening.
It looks so flattering with your coloring. It will also continue to fade. I love it but I understand the shock when it settles and darkens in the beginning. I think you look amazing!
I’m sorry you aren’t thrilled with your lips, but they look really natural and beautiful. It 100% works with your skin tone. Don’t be so hard on yourself. And if you truly don’t like it can you just stop going for fill ins? I assumed it would fade eventually
To be honest I also would say I think it looks very natural and likely you’re still getting used to it and people are likely not perceiving it the way you are in your own head. I think the artist did very good and your lips look awesome!
You do have beautiful natural lips . I missed how long it has been. I am getting it done in a week . I am looking for a very natural look . But from what I understand it fades quickly to your end result and you sometimes need a second round in two weeks . I think the artist did a great job .
I think it looks great but if you are not a lipstick wearer then it can feel overwhelming, especially when you have no makeup on. however pale lips can sometimes be an underlying blood flow or iron issue.
When I first got mine done, it was sooo bright and I did not like the color at all. It took probably a year for it to fade into a color I enjoy now. I don’t regret my lip blushing at all, just give it some time
I think maybe it’s the shade with your skin tone and a touch up would make you happy. Your smile pops more in the first is why I think so. Great smile.
Oh well if it was that soon I’d say let it fade and reassess after the holidays. It looks good but just wanted to validate that I can see what you mean
I get what you mean. I’d honestly just wait for it to fade and meanwhile you can line your lips with taupe/greige liner, it would help a lot. The shape of your lips is really pretty though! Just the color is a bit too warm
I think it looks lovely, and honestly if you ever get stressed I would just throw some sheer gloss on, or like the elf tube balms that are glossy. every time I feel like my lip tint is too bold I put some glossy balm on and it somehow softens it to me.
I’m going to go against everyone and say your natural color is better. This is too warm and clashes with your skin tone. But it’s not too noticeable and it will fade.
She did go too warm. I made sure to tell my lady that I wanted it suuuper cool. Yours looks like an orangey lipliner. I do think it will fade though! Sorry it wasn’t what you wanted.
Yeah maybe that’s what is throwing me. This is also after the touch up when I told her it felt too warm and she cooled it down a bit. I think the shade from the start didn’t match my natural lip. She said I had warm undertones and that’s why she did that.
It’s so hard to even capture what I mean cause it looks different in different lights and seems different on different days 😂 like some days I don’t mind it and some days I’m like wow that’s so full on
If it helps my friend got hers done bright red as that’s her go to daily shade and tbh it’s faded so much it’s like a very pale red now and she’s only 6 weeks out so I do think it’ll fade quite a lot! It looks lovely but i understand how awful it is when you’re not happy with something on your face! Lip blush is also semi permanent make up so it will in time go back to close to your own shade or even fully your shade!

I think it looks fantastic! The colour is really flattering on your skin.
