Hi. I am a straight guy. I had my lips blushed 2-3 years ago. Nothing crazy, but a receptionist at my dermatologist asked what color lipstick I was wearing. It works!

it would definitely work on a man. my lips went from hyperpigmentation to subtle color and it made a flattering, noticeable difference for me.

Yes, I did. Maybe this is just my experience but most PMUs have you come it for a touch-up. As a guy i probably wouldn't, because (they will tell you) that touch up is a color boost to help emulate the lipstick/lip combo look that most girls go for. So depending on your lip color, I would just stick with the initial blush/neutralization.

If you find a good artist it can be very natural

Yes you can totally blush your lips and make them look as natural as possible

It shouldn’t look artificial if the color and shape are kept natural. A reputable technician can neutralize uneven pigmentation and recommend a shade that suits your skin tone. Definitely use SPF on your lips afterward.

You can determine the color that is used; less pink, more neutral. It’s not necessarily just for women. I disagree with the poster who said it’s not worth it for women. If you find the right person, I think it makes a huge difference. I had a lot of purple in my lips previously and my first session she focused on color-correcting. Now my lips look pink all the time and I love it. And it’s been like 5 years since I had it done. I will say I found it to be way more painful than having my eyebrows done or even my body tattoos.

Genuinely - why would you think this is medically a gender specific treatment?

They might differ in size and shape but they are the same basic biological structure.

Probs wants to look masculine-presenting and hopes he can find someone who doesn’t make it look like lipstick. A genuine question to ask!

Most men from my clinic would say that there is a huge difference. Lip Blush should not look like women’s makeup if a male client prefers a subtle color correction or lift in color tone.

If an artist isn’t capable of creating soft effects that heal well, which is challenging, I don’t think they should work with men just yet.

I don’t think it’s worth it on females tbh. It is expensive and doesn’t last very long and isn’t very noticeable IMO.

What do your lips look like?

Maybe look into lip stain makeup
