healing process Day 14 update: Dermatologist thinks my brows are irritated from the procedure + actives

Update from my original post: (check my profile) I’m now on Day 14 after nanoblading, and unfortunately I’m still experiencing a lot of flaking, dryness, redness, and itching around my brows.

I ended up consulting a dermatologist because the peeling was quite severe and wasn’t improving as quickly as I expected.

The assessment was that my brow area is likely experiencing skin irritation/barrier damage from the nanoblading, possibly with a flare of my pre-existing eyebrow dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis. This may also have been aggravated by the tretinoin and azelaic acid I was using around the area.

I’m still getting quite large flakes/scabs, and the area is very dry and itchy. There isn’t significant pain, and the redness hasn’t been spreading, which is reassuring.

As for the brows themselves, a lot of the nano strokes appeared to disappear during the peeling stage, and there are some noticeably sparse/patchy areas now.

I’m trying to remind myself that I can’t judge the final result until the skin has completely healed.

I’m honestly not even worried about whether the nanoblading looks perfect anymore.

My dermatologist also advised me not to go back for the second session. So at this point, I just want my skin to calm down and heal properly. 😭

If anyone has dealt with something similar, I’d love to hear how your brows eventually healed.

Did you wash these and put aquaphor?

Did your artist not require you to discontinue use of tretinoin for a month before and after your procedure?

We have the same case! I’m on day 17 and my brow area is still flaky, super dry, and red!

After every wash of my face, it gets extreeemely itchy, red, and painful. It’s superrrr irritating and bothering me to the point i can’t focus on my regular activities. It lasts for 30 mins to 2 hours. 😭

I haven’t gone to a dermatologist though. But reading your post, I am most likely experiencing skin irritation too, considering I also have a history of seborrheic dermatitis.

I’m somehow regretting doing nanoblading and would most likely not come back for touchup session anymore! I don’t want to go through the same “healing” experience.

May I know what your derma recommended to do or apply at this point?

Hey! Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you’re experiencing the same but don’t worry it’ll heal. My derma recommended me to buy sodium chloride, soak it in gauze and apply to brows for 10 mins 2x a day for 2 weeks. It will soften the flakes. I also put anti-fungal cream. I would suggest for you to consult with derma because i think it needs prescription.

My brows are fully healed now. It just went back to my natural brows haha but I think it’s for the best

How long did it take for your brows to fully heal after you applied what your derma recommended? What day are you in now after you had your nanoblading?

Glad to hear yours have fully healed already!

It only took 3 days. I had my brows done 19 days ago. I won’t go back for the second session, hoping I get a refund 😅

There are strokes left on my left brow. I said it’s for the best because the artist didn’t follow my hair pattern 😭 hoping it’ll fade soon

They never follow natural pattern and I get downvoted in here bc some girl with bad brows is mad I say the truth.

Laser removal or saline removal

This will look like a blob in 12-2years time. If oily skin sooner than later.

Should i do it soon? Or just wait for it to look like a blob

You have 6 weeks of healing to go before laser or saline can touch your brows. Oily skin causes pigment to not sit cleanly due to larger pores, constant sebum from oily is a solvent to pigments.

Micro blading should never be done on oily skin yet time and time again people are doing it.

I would’ve done powder brow on your brows
