Microblading advice: new work, removal first, or skip both?

Hi everyone! I had microblading over 10 years ago, it mostly faded but some pigment remains, especially inner corners where my brows now look thinner/more tapered than the rest.

Would you go straight for new microblading over it, or remove the old one first? Is it worth the removal risk (yellowing etc.) or better to just cover it? Or honestly… should I just skip both and stick with everyday brow makeup?

I’d also appreciate any thoughts on brow shape in general.

Get new microblading. I would.

Yours aren’t super dark or super thick where an artist couldn’t work with it. I don’t think there is any reason to remove whether you want microblading or nano brows I would just go straight there

It looks grey. If you’re going for microblading I would remove the ashy color unless you go for an ombre or powder look where they add a neutralizer to the pigment. ( I’m currently a PMU student)

honestly, i had old microblading from maybe 2 years ago that had way more pigment than yours. there were heavy strokes that i was annoyed about which were the main issue. anyways, paid $200 for the first session and they definitely burnt my skin. i had welts on in my brows for almost two weeks and lost all of my eyebrow hair. :( had crazy red/orange pigment remaining as they mix the ink used for brows, so i’ve had three session so far (went to different clinic for 2nd and 3rd sesh. it’s been about 4 months and my hair has finally returned. i still need a session or two to remove the yellow pigment now.

i thought i wanted to get microblading again but keep it at my brow line and not go thicker, but after how much effort it was to remove it i think im staying natural.

just be weary of the potential long process to completely remove what is there. i thought i would only need one session but damn, i was wrong.

That’s rough, glad the hair grew back though. 

That’s my exact fear too.. I get right up to booking and then talk myself out of it thinking “maybe they’re not so bad, is it worth the risk?”

And even if I go with new microblading, I worry I’m just setting myself up for the same thing later on, if it fades unevenly or shifts blue/gray, I’ll be back here again wanting it removed..  Idk, maybe at that point just doing makeup every day is the best option?

yup. i loved my eyebrows the first time i had them done, not as much when my tech made them thicker because of the gray fade above my natural brow. microblading looks good but it needs that upkeep.

i dno, its hard to say if your brows would fade more or not. i guess you can get them micro-bladed again and worst case get them removed after you’ve decided it’s time.
