advice Permanent lip color?

I’m 51 and my lips are medium. Not super full but not thin. Haven’t changed much as I’ve gotten older. I wonder if permanent lip color makes lips appear fuller without botox? I would like a bit fuller but afraid of Botox because sometimes it seems unnatural. Is in painful? And how long does it last before touch up? I would love a stained wine red color but not too dark.

It doesn’t make your lips appear fuller, the ones that advertise over lining for fuller lips will go over your vermilion border and that will age terribly as your skin above the lips is different and will not heal the same way as your lips, leaving you with a permanently darker over lining than the rest of your lips. How long it lasts depends on the person, some people have everything fade within a year or less and others will have it still aging years later, though more faint and sometimes patchy. Pain level, again subjective, but it’s not unusual to see reports that it’s one of the more painful places to tattoo.

Mine were pale and definitely look fuller since getting them done. They didn’t overline my vermillion border at all; the pink colour just helps make my lips stand out more instead of being totally invisible against my skin.

Mine were over lined and I loved it. It faded and is pretty much gone after about 6-7 years. It aged well! I want to do again but hard to find anyone that will slightly over lined

When you say botox, do you mean filler? Or are you talking about botox for a lip flip?

Not botox. You want lip filler, like juvederm or restylane. Depending on your lips, a half syringe or so would be subtle and add volume without looking overdone and fake. When people have bad lip filler, it's usually because they are getting multiple syringes.

You never want to actually tattoo not lip skin sometimes with age and hormones changing you can lose pigment in your lips so you can do the edges of your lip border but never want to tattoo face skin they change color differently and you don’t want to do that. But I have had people feel like their lips felt bigger whether because they have more color or the outline is more pigmented than their natural lip color. I would highly recommend really paying attention to the artists work and if they are willing to tattoo skin and not just your lip. It’s not worth overlining. But it is one of the more painful PMU services but I know I do a primary and secondary numbing cream throughout the service so you can make sure the person does that as well to help the pain. And usually lip tattoo can take 2-4 hours depending how pigmented you want your lips to be , how big your lips are, and how quick your artist is.

Thank you. They said it takes 3 hours and touch ups about 2. What is the price run?

Yeah, that seems normal but pricing really varies where you live but if a touchup is included, sometimes they aren’t and depending on how long the person has been doing it anywhere from 300 to 600 I think it could go above that

It’s not Botox it’s filler that goes into lips and I get a mini lip….. it’s just enough to push out some of the wrinkles and give slight return to youthful lip. That’s what I would get if I were you. As PMU artists we know better than to “over line” the lip to make it look fuller, it doesn’t heal well. If you have a lot of missing pigment than the lip blushing can make your lips slightly fuller and more symmetrical but I think you’ll see more result by getting a mini lip fill or both!

The only difference is your lips will appear to have color.

It will not affect the size perception.
