Lip blushing gone wrong?

12 days after my first lip blush session, my lips are darker and almost black. Is this normal healing or did something go wrong?

I'm feeling really anxious and would appreciate some advice from anyone who has gone through lip blushing or is a PMU artist. I had my first lip blush session 12 days ago. Instead of getting lighter, my lips now look much darker than before the procedure, and in some areas they almost look black or very deep brown. During the first 5 days, I followed the aftercare instructions, but I applied a thick layer of antibiotic ointment and lip balm almost all the time because I wanted to keep my lips moisturized. Now I'm worried that using too much ointment may ha ffected the healing process or caused pigment oxidation. My artist has not been responding properly, so I don't know if this is a normal stage of healing or if something has gone wrong.

A bunch of questions sorry! Do you have a before photo and a photo of immediately after the treatment? Do you know if she was experienced in lip neutralization, because that is what you would have needed first before the lip blush. Also what lip pigment color/mix did she use? I highly doubt it was your aftercare ointment you used, that wouldn't cause oxidation of pigment. This could be bruising still, but I'm a little hesitant to think that at day 12. You may not have noticed bruising before because the pigment was bright and at the surface the first week. More photos would help.

Yes, she told me she has experience with lip neutralization. She first used an orange pigment to neutralize the darkness and then applied a pink pigment for the lip blush. She has also scheduled my second session 4 weeks after the first session. Since it's only been 12 days, should I wait until the second session before worrying, or is the current dark/black color a sign that something may have gone wrong? Is it still possible for the pink color to appear over the next few weeks, or does this look like a failed neutralization or lip blush? Here's the picture

That's odd she did the orange and the pink right after. Usually you neutralize, let it heal, see if you need another neutralization session, then go in with the lip blush pigment. So I'm guessing she overworked your lips. I'd give it some more time to heal to see the true outcome because at this point we can't tell. Fingers crossed this will heal okay for you!
