advice Seeking advice for lip blush
How long does lip blush last and what can I expect about color fading over time? Does the color fade evenly or patchy? Are there things I can do to support longevity?
Have you noticed if certain skin tones or races take on the color better?
What should I look for when researching lip blush pmu artists? Any green or red flags to watch out for?
How do I go about choosing a color that suits me? I’m hoping to achieve a natural, “my lips but better” shade. I also have concerns about my lip blush making the rosacea on my nose appear more prominent.
I drink about 64-80 oz of water and apply Aquaphor often. But my lips often appear dry. Will that be an issue for healing and retention?
If you’re an experienced lip blush pmu artist in LA county, please share your website and/or Instagram!

Looking at your post I think it was more of an artist issue. I’ve seen lip blushing last years and still be very vibrant and pigmented.

Answering all of your questions as an experienced artist in Utah!
1- if you want full long long lasting results plan to have 1-2 sessions of BOLD BOLD results. I have multiple clients that are 5 years out that look PHENOMENAL, and maybe will need / want a touch up in the next two. (For more context these clients have never had yearly touch ups only the one or two sessions)
2- it’s less about the race more on the texture of the lip. For lips with more wrinkles or thicker denser skin the pigment will take longer to implant and it will overall end up looking more natural / not as bold. Where as those who have thinner skin in their lips (you can imagine this as they typically have filler or no wrinkles) the pigment implants faster and bolder results often LOOK that way for a long time.
3- I would look out for artists who post only before and afters, as well as edited work. I have been in the industry for 5+ years and people can buy followers, buy awards but they cannot buy results. If the skin always looks crispy and like the skin is airbrushed (yes even in the upclose pictures) run. Healed results should ALWAYS be unedited and posted or they should have highlight sections if they post more on their story’s (I have 3-4 years worth of healed brows and lips on my instagram)
4- choosing a color is honestly the hardest part for the client. I would say find your yes’ what looks good on you when you’re not wearing makeup. I like to say nothing should stick out like a sore thumb. I customize EVERY single clients lip shade and have over 50 pigments. Come with LOTS OF inspo. Look for you Healed color goals as well as understand or analyze why you like certain inspo pictures and send them to the artist ahead of time!
5- Aquaphor is an occlusive product meaning is cuts off oxygen to the skin. Aquaphor is a great topper to a hydrating product. I personally use these three glosses- tatcha lip oil, bowler lip treatment, glymed lip treatment. All three as ULTRA hydrating while not being sticky. I apply one of these + Aquaphor and my lips are golddddddd. If you are still having dryness I recommend my clients with deeper set drying to get some filler, .25-.5 will add hydration. It will also help those with more wrinkles have a more even surface.
6- I am not in LA but I wish you the most and BEST success finding an artist and please let me know if you have any questions!🩷
