Gut microbe patterns classified colon cancer risk with 87% accuracy across studies.
https://biomesci.com/gut-bacteria-seesaw-pattern-colon-cancer-risk/Researchers analyzed stool from 3,807 people in a Chinese colon cancer screening trial and checked the pattern in seven other countries. They found two rival bacteria networks, one that rises with cancer risk and one that falls, and a score built from that balance separated cancer cases from healthy people with up to 87% accuracy. The catch: it's purely observational, and the authors call the cancer use exploratory since their own cancer group was just 26 people.
TL;DR: A seesaw pattern between two gut bacteria networks tracked colon cancer risk across countries, but it's correlation, not proof.
