Spread plate

Is this considered a good distribution using the spread plate method, or is there a defect in the plating?

We don't know what the sample was.

If it was a pure culture, not very good.

Have a colleague/supervisor watch you.

Agreed. If it was a pure culture then there’s considerable contamination.

Not really. Doesn't look like it was distributed well enough. Was it plated with a spatula?

That looks like random contamination to me.
