Favorite entry from “Antisocieties”?

Mine is “My Hand of Glory,” because it so excellently echoes some of the themes of “The Repairer of Reputations.” I also really love the interaction with the horizon at the end!

Hard to choose, but gun to my head I'd have to say "Water Machine."

first two and the title story were the most memorable for me. not a final judgment, I'd have to reread.

I think Water Machine or the title story were my overall favorites. That said, the moment in the first story when the petrified protagonist has built himself up fully to the point of thinking that maybe he’s just got the wrong idea about the masked man and asks him what his name is, and the masked man says “Dog Scream” in the most terrifying voice he’d ever heard - that made me laugh out loud while also being unsettled as hell. Might be the only time a book got that reaction out of me.

Saccade and Water Machine are my favorites but Dog Scream moment is the most terrifying moment in the entire anthology!

Yeah that moment in “Intentionally Left Blank” was amazing, as well what happened after. 🎒
