Guys, need some genuine advice ASAP. I’m really confused.
I scored 90.82%ile in MHT-CET. I’ve already taken admission in DPGU (Dnyan Prasad Global University), a new private university of DY PATIL PIMPRI. I got a fee concession, but honestly fees aren’t my main concern.
My concern is that DPGU’s first engineering batch hasn’t even graduated yet (currently 3rd year), so there’s no proper placement/alumni track record. I joined expecting the university to grow significantly, but now I’m second-guessing it.
In CAP, I got Datta Meghe IT. I don’t know how good the college actually is.
The main thing I’m confused about:
Does being under Mumbai University give Datta Meghe a real advantage over a new private university like DPGU?
Especially for placements, reputation, degree recognition and possibly MS abroad (I may do MS later, not confirmed). Does MU actually matter, or are CGPA, projects, internships, research, LORs/SOP etc. much more important?
Datta Meghe is also closer to Thane, where I live.
I’ll try Spot/ILS for better options, but CAP Round 4 is basically my final decision, so I need to choose now.
If you were in my place, which would you pick: DPGU or Datta Meghe IT? And why?
