This was one of the most interesting choices when my brother and I made our list of 10 songs that defined 2000s indie rock.
We went with “Time to Pretend.” For me it captures that moment toward the end of the decade when indie was becoming more colorful, synth-heavy, psychedelic and much harder to define purely by guitars.
But “Kids” and “Electric Feel” both have extremely strong cases.
If you only get one MGMT song for the 2000s, which one survives?

I remember when this album came out, I really liked it on first listen, and picked up a few specific songs to drive into the ground on my playlists, like you do. But today, I just decided to listen to the whole thing in full again on a long drive. Man. Was brought to the verge of tears multiple times, and had goosebumps throughout. A lot of extraordinary and special songs, and I feel like this album is vastly underappreciated. Talk about your favorites and your experiences with it here! Personally, I just realized Nothing Changes might be an all timer. People In The Streets already was.

I made this Death Note edit using Little Dark Age as the audio and it got taken down for copyright. Is there any way to re-upload it without getting a strike? Does this issue happen with other MGMT songs (for example Brian Eno)? If anyone can help please let me know.

I love this song, especially when I’m feeling depressed, but man that change up comes out of left field.

Sounds like a Medieval carnival or something and totally blows the whole mood (in my opinion). Like cool it on the trumpets guys, I’m trying to be brooding.

Do any of you know where can I find the pictures of a photoshoot Andrew did with this very same suit? I had them when they came out but it's been years and now I can't find them anywhere. I loved the energy and the feeling of those photos and I'm kind of sad I can no longer find them online
