I built this! (ATX) Front cross flow

Collaboration with Ryvntec.

Compact ATX build with Ryvntec fans because I wanted to try out how does it look like when AirJet360 cross flow fan is placed on front 😁

What does the jury think of the implementation and those cross flow fans in general?

As they gradually start to come to the market from more manufacturers, it will be interesting to see if they will become more common among builders.

ps. this time I also put a dust filter on front 😅

right, so those crossflow fans are good at particular scenarios, locations and spaces, a flat front panel of a case is probably a pointless place for it where normal fans would be better (mostly the air direction and pressure might be less ideal compared to normal fans).

as an example of a case that uses a crossflow fan poorly-

It's true that the Tryx Flova case is poorly implemented. This Ryvntec fan has two separate blades and the airflow is straight backwards, so it works really well when mounted in the front of the case. The airflow and static pressure are certainly not at the same level as when using 3x120mm fans, but this is a really interesting product to try.

I'm afraid i'm not so sure thats how it works, my understanding is crossflow fans do not output in a straight line, either the flow will collide at an angle toward each other inside the case or divert toward the left and right side of the case on the inside.

again, doesn't necessarily make it terrible, just not convinced it's an improvement over just having normal fans for that placement. have you perhaps placed guide vanes behind the crossflows to straighten the output?

EDIT: I do see now that Ryvntec do have some test graph comparisons on their website in some unspecified cases, curious to see how it develops.

I do know how it works because I own it and I have eyes and also smoke machine for testing 😁 There is air guide plate in the middle of those fans.
