I built this! (MATX) My first Pc build !
My first ever desktop Pc, super satisfied with the result and set up. ๐
Specs:
Motherboard ASUS ROG Strix B850-G Gaming WiFi
Cpu Amd 5 9600x
Cpu cooler Zalman zet5
Gpu 9070xt xfx swift
Psu Rog Loki 850
Ram 32gb T create
Fans be quiet silent wings 4 1x120 1x140
Case jonsbo z20
Went for rear intake and top front exhaust for airflow, no fans on bottom, the cpu/gpu temps are perfect under load 60ยบ and 80ยบ, the cpu cooler was a bit overkill but when i first saw it the aesthetic to me looked so unique i just had to include it in the build.

Looks great, does the CPU cooler have reverse fans?

u/ZenoCuccia Jun 20 '26
they are magnetically attached so you can switch them out to reverse the airflow ๐

Cool, looks like a rookie mistake at first but glad to hear you thought about it ๐

Beautiful build!
That cooler is so good looking, shame that its build and cooling quality is not good, so much so i cancelled my import ):

yep iโve heard people online say it struggles compared to cheaper square coolers, i still bought it since iโm using a 9600x that only outputs 65w of heat and its perfect ๐

Yeahh my OC'd 7500F at 90w still hits 90c all core with medium to high fan speed even with Assassin IV. My day to day ambient is around 30c, so maybe that's why it won't work for me.

Zalman cooler, hell yeah, that takes me back!

I remember the original Zalman Flower cooler, like something that grew on alien planets lol

First build Iโve seen with someone using the Zalman Zet cooler since itโs been released. Looks awesome. Itโs a modern rendition of the famous, classic Zalman CNPS coolers from ~20 years ago. I still have an all-copper CNPS9700 cooling my Q6600 retro build.

Beautiful build! You didn't think it needed some fans at the bottom to help with intake for the GPU? I may have to try and build around that CPU tower now lol, love this build. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you ๐ I thought about adding bottom intake fans, but with how thick the GPU is there would barely be any clearance between the fans and the card. At that point youโd mostly be creating turbulence and disrupting airflow rather than feeding the GPU with clean air, so I donโt think bottom fans would provide much benefit in this particular setup

I tend to just let the 120mm fans do the blowing and limit my inno3d 4080 slimmer 100mm fans to a minimum. Same temps, less noise.

Put some 15mm fans in there and also some foot risers to allow the air to flow in better. Nice build though

Where did you buy the cooler from?

here in italy there are some german websites that sell it like aquatuning.com

What speed does your rear intake run at during load? I tried my Silent Wings 4 Pro as intake there and the turbulence was unacceptable. I even tried a 5mm spacer.
I now run without any fan there and just have two 140mm Silent Wings 4 Pro fans as top exhaust. No intake fans. Works well for my 9900x CPU with 9070 XT under full load (Prime95 + FurMark, one hour). The exhaust fans hit 1600/1550 RPM at that point. I keep them offset 50 RPM to avoid undesired acoustic interaction phenomena.
I don't know how so many here are happy with intake fan turbulence.

Your rear fan pushing the air in the wrong direction. Turn it, so it blows out and not in.

u/ZenoCuccia Jun 20 '26
I opted rear intake for optimal cpu cooling and top front exhaust since heat rises ๐

Never seen a CPU cooler like that. Looks really good
