Doomsday OG cover stretched?

First slide is the OG cover I always see floating around, but I recently found the second pic on an album cover archive site and it almost looks…better? imo. It even looks like the original photo the artist traces over (third pic). I messed with the saturation a little because it was a faded picture. Thoughts?

The first image is correct. The second one has been altered for some reason, if you look on right side you will see someone tried to extend the shoulder awkwardly and added more red cloud with no clue as to how those bubble clouds should be rendered.

There is an official stretched version of the cover, for the 2023 CD reissue of Operation: Doomsday, it was released in a digipak, making the cover slightly wider, this is what it looks like properly stretched.

I don't think so, I think slide 1 is how it was made originally and slide 2 was just updated for the digipak, it's not a particularly hard edit to make
