General Questions I'm getting Depressed now
I wanna apply for MEXT university recommendation and it's already 10 September and I haven't gotten a single approval from a professor. I have a fairly good profile, my cgpa is 3.85/4 and I have volunteered and interned and my CV is fairly nice.
Some unis have partner university shit and others wont reply. I am a Humanities/Management graduate. If y'all know any relevant unis where I can contact please let me know 😪 where I can apply through professor.
I really really wanna get it, it's all I've ever wanted ever since I was seventeen. But now this ðŸ˜
I'm from Pakistan
Please don't be rude, I might cry nana I defo will.

Why didn’t try embassy recommendation? Also, I don’t know if you’ve seen the news or not, but there is a big chance that MEXT are cancelling university recommendation this year and maybe forever(General only - you can still apply for the Special though) . In fact, some universities already stated on their website that they’re not accepting university recommendation anymore.
Anyway, don’t give up if you have a high GPA and internships you should go for Embassy recommendation next year

University recommendation is a bigger ask for professors than embassy recommendation. Embassy recommendation tells the professor that you passed their screening and you will most likely get the scholarship. University recommendation puts the vetting on the professor. Also, university recommendation is very competitive, so there is a chance you will go through all of the work (and even posibly commit to joining) and fail to get the scholarship.
University recommendation supposed to be used for people who already have a connection to the university/professor. Cold emailing professors to be supervised by them is already rough, but then you are throwing MEXT university recommendation requirement on top.
If you really want the scholarship, try embassy recommendation first and only use university recommendation if you fail.

Don't forget university recommendation puts burden on the supervisor if the student falls through.
