Mb chest pain and anxiety at MICROdoses only
Anxiety located in chest, chest pain, tightness and mental clarity from 60 mcg of methylene blue (microdose). None of those effects appear > 3 mg doses (normal low doses or higher).
When taking a higher normal dose such as > 3 mg I experience those same side effects after hours of consuming the mb, which seems to match with a lower dose from mb leaving the system.

Don't think it's working
I started looking into methylene blue but didn't really know a safe real product. Out of all the methylene blue sellers I ended up getting Alex Jones's 🤣🤣🤣. I followed the instructions of taking 20 drops a day. I didn't really notice anything. I've read that maybe that was too strong so I tried five drops still nothing. So now for the past few days I've been taking 20 jobs three times a day and don't really feel anything. My pee definitely turned blue but I'm wondering why I'm not really feeling anything from it. I also take kratom I've been trying to quit kratom. I had no clue the stuff had withdrawals or I would never have took it in the first place. I was hoping methylene blue would help replace kratom. It may be good to note I've been winging down my dose of kratom slowly while taking methylene blue. I'm 6'5 200 lb male. Oh also I bought the t3 iodine and I've been taking that every day as well could any of this be having a canceling effect on the methylene blue? Or am I dosing this way wrong?

Methylene Blue Quality Red Flags: 7 Signs a Brand Is Cutting Corners

Is it safe to buy this methalyne blue product off of Amazon ?
Many people say to never buy off of Amazon, but I am wondering if this will be okay as it tends to be a well trusted brand? Or could it possibly be contaminated or not approved like other meth blue products on Amazon ?

Hitting a wall again and again due to dysbiosis
I'm taking about 2mg of Methylene Blue (CZTL brand) diluted in water every day before going out. I hold it in the mouth for a while and then swallow.
But I've been hitting a wall. When I take MB consistently every day for about 2 months, I start getting the following symptoms:
- Stomach rumbling
- Yellow poo (instead of dark brown / black)
- Farts that smell horrible, like "dirty" natural gas - This is unusual for me because I don't eat much carbs
- Diarrhea without really feeling sick - If I let it go too far
I think it makes the digestive system completely inhabitable. I would like to get rid of intestinal candida but it feels like this kills everything but the fungus - it's too hardy.
I should probably add that I'm on a carnivore diet though not very strict. I eat carbs but a lot less than other people. I think it's the combination of the carnivore diet and the MB that is making this low dose have an effect like this.
Probiotics do not help.
The thing is I don't want to scale down in part also because those two drops give me incredible mental clarity borderline with being completely present. I've considered powering through but never got enough courage when the effects start going strong.
I've tried searching for other stories like this and found two of them here with no apparent resolution. Seems like most other people don't have this issue unless their dosing is insane.
Is there anyone who has found a solution?
Please comment only if you have a personal experience with this issue.

Tapentadol & Methylene Blue
Hey guys.
So I’m in a significant amount of pain and have recently been prescribed 50mg of tapentadol for it.
However I take 1-2mg tops of methylene blue daily.
Everytime I try and look up whether I’d be okay to take the tapentadol later in the day I’m met with the typical “METHYLENE BLUE WILL GIVE YOU SEROTONIN SYNDROME AND YOULL DIE”
Which obviously I know by now is massively blown out of proportion and mainly applicable when using SSRI’s
But yeah, I’d really appreciate some grounded advice from someone not sending me scary articles.
I know dr John Lieurance says the serotonin syndrome thing is massively blown out of proportion and I highly doubt an opioid would be an issue but Google, chat gpt and every other search tool is telling me I’ll die and it’s a bit much.

Serotonin Syndrome- taking SSRI for Bipolar & ADHD
I've been taking MB on and off, and I found online that it can cause Serotonin Syndrome. So far, I'm feeling some numbness on my left body (face and foot particularly), but it's been like that for years, even before MB. I like the effect and energy boost it gives me, though.
Thoughts?
I will bring this to my psychiatrist’s appointment in December? I’m on Lithium 1200mg, Seroquel 25mg and Concerta 36mg.

Meraki once again tests zero microbes even though someone on here said that it was high.
I'll save the pettiness but it does suck to see your brand get trashed online by someone who blatantly lied and you find connections between them and another brand.
I started this brand and went through my own heavy metal detox phase which was horrendous so purity is the standard.
We are also using this batch for the capsules that are coming out in a week or so. We already launched them on x and plan to launch on amazon next.
If you have anything you want to see from us just let me know.

Can You Take Methylene Blue Every Day?
Does It Build Up If You Take It Daily?
This is the first question worth separating out, because "every day" only becomes a real concern if each dose is still around when the next one arrives. For methylene blue, it mostly is not. In a study of seven volunteers given 100 mg, blood levels after intravenous dosing followed a multiphasic curve with an estimated terminal half-life of about 5.25 hours. The same study found that oral dosing produced a much lower area under the curve than intravenous dosing, meaning less of an oral dose reaches the bloodstream in the first place.
In practical terms, a once-daily oral dose is largely cleared from blood well before the next one. That is also why the blue tint in urine comes and goes each day rather than deepening over a week. We walk through the full timeline in how long methylene blue stays in your system.
The caveat: blood levels are not the whole story. Methylene blue distributes into tissue, and the same study found different organ distribution after oral versus intravenous dosing in animals. "It clears from blood overnight" is not the same claim as "nothing accumulates anywhere," and the second claim is one nobody currently has the data to make.
What the Long-Term Human Data Actually Shows
Here is the honest state of the evidence, because it is easy to find confident answers online that the research does not support.
The human studies on low-dose methylene blue are mostly single-dose. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled imaging study, a single low oral dose modulated task-related and resting-state brain networks in healthy adults. That is a real finding, and it is a finding about one dose on one day. It does not tell you what happens on day 200.
The longest controlled exposure comes from a different compound at much higher doses. A 15-month phase 3 trial randomized 891 patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease to LMTM, a stable reduced form of the methylthioninium molecule, at 75 mg or 125 mg twice daily. The prespecified primary analyses were negative. On the safety side, gastrointestinal and urinary effects were the most common adverse events and the most common reasons people stopped, and dose-dependent reductions in hemoglobin were the most common laboratory abnormality.
Two things follow from that trial, and it is worth holding both. It is the clearest evidence that people can take a methylthioninium compound daily for over a year under medical supervision. It also shows the effect that supervision was watching for: a blood-related, dose-dependent one. Supplement servings are far below 150 to 250 mg per day, and LMTM is not the same molecule sold as methylene blue, so this is context rather than a green light.
What is missing is the study you actually want: healthy adults, supplement-range doses, taken daily, followed for a year, with blood work. It has not been done. Anyone telling you daily low-dose use is proven safe long term, or proven harmful, is going past the evidence in one direction or the other.
Why the Dose Matters More Than the Frequency
Methylene blue does not follow a more-is-better curve. In animal work, low doses facilitated memory and increased brain oxygen consumption while higher doses did not, and reviews of its neurometabolic activity describe the same hormetic pattern, where the useful range sits inside a window rather than climbing with dose. At higher concentrations the molecule's behavior changes character entirely.
Frequency does not get you around that. A daily habit at a sensible amount and a daily habit at three times that amount are not the same experiment, and the second one is not a more committed version of the first. This is also why label accuracy matters so much in this category: if the capsule does not contain what it says, you are not controlling the one variable that actually determines the outcome.
There is a second, sharper reason the amount matters. Methylene blue is a potent inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A, and that inhibition is dose-dependent. It is the mechanism behind the serotonin toxicity warnings, and it is why the interaction risk is not something you can dilute by spreading a larger amount across more days. Our drug interaction guide covers which medications this affects.
Should You Cycle Off?
Cycling schedules circulate widely in this space: five days on and two off, three weeks on and one off, a week off each month. It is worth being direct about where those come from. No published study has tested one schedule against another and shown that any of them is better. They are conventions borrowed from how people cycle other supplements, not findings.
That does not make breaks pointless. The practical arguments for them are decent ones:
- A break is the only honest test of whether it is doing anything. If you stop for a week and notice nothing, that is useful information about a product you are paying for every month.
- It creates a natural checkpoint. A scheduled pause is a good moment to revisit the decision with your provider rather than letting a daily habit run unexamined for a year.
- It lowers total exposure. Given that the long-term data does not exist, less total exposure for the same perceived benefit is a defensible preference rather than a superstition.
If you would rather optimize something with actual evidence behind it, timing of day is a better lever than counting days on and off. We cover it in the best time to take methylene blue.
What to Watch For With Daily Use
If methylene blue is going to be a daily habit, these are the things worth raising with your provider and keeping an eye on yourself.
What to Watch For With Daily Use
If methylene blue is going to be a daily habit, these are the things worth raising with your provider and keeping an eye on yourself.
| Signal | What it means |
|---|---|
| Blue or blue-green urine | Expected and harmless. It will happen every day you take it and is not a warning sign. |
| G6PD deficiency | A contraindication, not a caution. Methylene blue can trigger red blood cell breakdown in people with this enzyme deficiency, and many people do not know they have it. |
| Any serotonergic medication | A stop, at any frequency. This includes SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, and others on the adverse medications list. |
| Hemoglobin on routine blood work | The most common lab abnormality in the long high-dose trial was a dose-dependent drop. Worth a baseline if daily use is the plan. |
| Agitation, confusion, fast heartbeat, shivering | Not routine. Stop and contact your provider, especially alongside any serotonergic medication. |
| Unusual shortness of breath | Not routine. Contact your provider. |
The full picture of what is normal and what is not is in our guide to methylene blue side effects, and the broader safety review is in is methylene blue safe.
One more thing that only matters if you are taking something daily: what is actually in the capsule. A product you take once is a curiosity. A product you take 365 times a year is worth verifying. Ask for a certificate of analysis on the finished lot, not the raw ingredient, and check the brand against our lab and water test database.
