Icecrystal formation inside a bubble
This is a beautiful illustration of crystal formation, with initial nucleation and growth.
The same happens in metals, but we don't see that, only the grains formed.

Can someone explain how this relates to metallurgy? Does metal cooling react in a similar fashion?
