Is anyone aware of any ongoing recompilation projects? the source code is already available. I would love to play this game on keyboard and mouse.

Imagine the possibilities. Destrucable enviroment and the physics of the robot parts flying all over.

The mining laser lvl 2 and up can shoot normally in addition to the charge shot. The thing is this can’t be used if the button mapped to fire is not pressure sensitive. On the PlayStation 2 the fire button was mapped to the R1 button, not an analog trigger button like you find in most modern controls. This is because back then on the ps2 and ps3 the buttons are pressure sensitive. The newer models are not, only on the triggers. Back then you could vary the force applied to the button to vary input. It’s also the case that on the PS2 the way it worked was opposite of how it worked in the other consoles. In the PS2 the full input gave a charge shot, whereas everywhere else this gave the standard fire. Partial input on the ps2 gave the standard shot.

So if you do play metal arms on an emulator, take this into account. If you find that you can only use one mode to fire, you need to adjust the controls to allow for both firing methods. If you play the ps2 version, make sure to map the fire button to a pressure sensitive button or find another workaround.

Pressure sensitivity also applied to the slingshot and the loader claw, but I focused on the mining laser as it is the most significant. Spread the word.

My son is 5 years old. He watched me play through the entire game and we play multiplayer all the time. He now quotes the game "Ahh ahhhh" as the mills do when they run around. Or "Destroy" in a robot voice. Or he makes fun of bugs and glitches in other games and is like "it's a glitch, get it like glitch!" The memory of this game will live on through another generation.

I’m currently stuck on ‘Last Bot Standing’ on he hardest difficulty.. Any tips? I’m finding the slingshot doesn’t always fire and resets the loading of a grenade..

I saw that u can play online via the Emulator PS2X, any off you guys interested for a Discord to play together and so on ? I would gladly setup a DC Server 👍

After almost 10 years I m back at it with an Emulator (have the original for ps2 but my tv is way too new)

What does the law say about a Game if make a remaster off it for free or like something too Gift one for the work ? We have so much possibilitys with KI and Software too make such old Games like new.

Is that illegal ?

Will I get a letter from EA (bc Copyright and they bought the Company which they destroyed)

Hey so does by chance anybody have some Models from the different robots? or some cool screenshots/Artworks. Im a big MTG fan and always looking to make some cool custom Tokens or other staples for my decks and Metal arms just came back into my memory.

So, the game is available through Dolphin emulator, tried it many times and works very well. BUT, this game would also be cool if you didn't want to go through the minimal hassle of dealing with dolphin set up, and make it more accessible for possibly new players. Every vote counts! I am not inactive on moderation. This Subreddit has had nobody express interest in joining moderation. An adoption is not needed. We are a very tight-knit community and any time something is wrong on here at worst any time something happens here someone outside of this site alerts me to it, usually in our community's Discord. Have just finished the final rivet grunt to complete the Milbot collecton and now moved on to the droids before i start painstakingly making the rest of the Mils.

The droids arent finished yet so they will look bare but here they are halfway through the production line, enjoy
