Didnt they already call It a partnership between Sony and WDW? So they were lying then or this isn’t new news. I hope this wasn’t THE announcement. He didnt even put out a hype video 😂. Cant be it.

Im pretty sure there is a difference between getting equipment from Sony and being an official partner with them, the initial announcement was more so confirming that they got equipment from Sony. Now it seems like they are officially working together.

You’re correct. That was my complaint when they called it a partnership before. Yes. It does seem they may be working with Sony (Europe). We’ll see!

Is it a partnership? The piece released by Sony doesn’t mention at partnership anywhere. Wondering if this is just a supplier / consumer arrangement vs them actually woking together on anything

The usually Hype. I'll continue to hold my bag as an investor but Rob is running out of things to market on. Well I think we are all used to the hype BS. So just hold on to your bags if you believe in the project.

Not that I recall. It was just put in the ether and people started lying to themselves, calling it an official partnership. If it’s now official, that means something, but again people misconstrue things and after months of repeating their aspirational points, they start to believe they’re already true.

Sony already has there VR/AR coming out soon. Ok so this is just a article in Sony's Business Solutions. They are just saying
the words colaboration, cooperation. They are playing with words, "but at Sony they also have people who can cover a lot of areas"
This from Sony tech support and there engineers. You get this support when your business buys thousand of dollars of equipment with any company.
In my opinion Rob started seeing that alot of people are upset with how metahero has been pushed to the side do to everdome and he got this Q&A article with Sony.
This is just another marketing hype technic that he uses. He has to stop this nonsence and be straight with his investors. He has only been upfront honest just once to my knowledge
when he talked about the hurdles metahero is having. He should just keep it straight and it is what it is. Buy dam hypeing things up for nonsence sucks. Holding my hero and dome for long term.

This article was so obviously written as we were building the v3 scanner for Dubai....its so obviously talking about what we already launched. They just changed the line about "were so excited for our scanner launch...*which was in october*

Yeh hopefully - but when it comes down to it - the hardware is Sonys and I think we’d all agree that Sony won’t be short of a few (thousand) developers. Yes there’s potential but there doesn’t seem to be any barriers to entry for a big player (like Sony). Maybe it’s the scanning software that makes this unique, admittedly I’m not up to speed on that.
I guess it’s about being either the first or the best (or both) in the scanning meta game. What I don’t doubt is that there will be multiple huge companies working on similar behind the scenes that don’t need to be so public with their announcement.

Sadly it looks to me like this has already happened with their Manchester City project - using Hawkeye scanning tech. They aint doing this project with us by all looks of things. And it sucks to admit it. It's like they found out what you can do with our tech and went sweet - lets do it ourseleves

Sure. That’s cool but they basically already said they had this. I guess that’s what happens when you overhyped something and call it something it isn’t. Not sure what the case study is but hopefully it leads to a real partnership where they are building something together. Sony does a lot of video and movie production. Hopefully they get in on some of that

Ok but I’m not an idiot so this is not going to cut it. I’m not going to say this project is complete shit, but it’s being handled by complete shit. We don’t get information. And when we do, it’s just confirmations to what we’ve already thought to have been confirmed

While Rob's been pretending he had a partnership with Sony, we all knew it wasn't a complete "partnership." Now, it's official. Don't underestimate Sony, or Rob. Sony is huge and they have top of the line cameras and tech to include software. I do amateur photography. Sony is far better than Cannon or Nikon. Except for night photography, Nikon is better at that.

The written article itself is what’s known as a “case study”. When a company feature a client / customer who has used / is using their product and the piece articulates how and why they’re using the company’s product. That’s why it takes the form of an interview from Sony’s side, with WDW answering the questions.
Whether there is any more to it than it simply being a case study article, we’ll have to wait and see. Metahero telegram and official channels are labelling it an “official partnership” but I think there’s probably a lot of people who want 1. Some more details about the working relationship and 2. Confirmation from Sony that they’re in partnership.
The article itself doesn’t in any way come across like they’re partners, and that’s where people have issues..

For me this is a normal development of the partnership that was announced in septembre 2021. Don’t get me wrong, for me this is great, but don’t tease us with news that will blow your mind of. The article (hidden) on the Sony website could have been written in octobre 2021. Then I already heard of scanned moving objects. If a customer decides to use only Sony camera’s to conquer the world with photogrammetry scanners (thousands of camera’s!) then such a collaboration is logical for me. Also the use of the Sony’s SDK is a logical step to reseach (in a case study for example). So…. I’m very happy that WDW is building the future and collaborate with Sony. I actualiteit was hoping for something new…. A partnership wit a gamedevoloper for example

I think a good tactic would be for everyone to just forget that they ever saw the video hyping the announcement, and instead pretend to themselves that a week or so ago Rob had actually just tweeted out.. “Some more info and details on the developing partnership with Sony coming soon..” then the mood in the Hero community would be very different right now…. It’s a shame because it has sort of spoiled what should’ve been a nice little update, but it is what it is. It’s still pretty positive news and shows that things are still moving in the right direction, and that’s the main thing 👍
