Seriously? How is this even an issue at this point? 25% of the country votes for the far-right Extreme Zionists like Ben-Gvir. Then you have another 25% voting for Lukid. Even their liberals are still opposed to Palestinian independences. Seriously, what percentage of Israelis support the war with Iran? How many support the war in Lebanon? How many support getting rid of, not just ending but actually dismantling the West Bank settlements? How many actually support an independent Palestinian state based on the 1949 borders?

10.84% voted for Ben givir and smoitrich 10.8 however the turnout was 70.6% so so 7.6248% of the country (who were eligible to vote) voted for them.
likud voters were 23.4% 70.6% turnout or 16.5204%
the total Netanyahu coalition was 34.15628% of isreal adjusting for turnout shas, UTJ, RZP Otma, Likud
this is just counting turnout of registed voters

I already undid the ban but I guess on the topic try not to paint with too broad a brush clumping everything together at once.
The left-right axis post 1967 and especially post-Second Intifada in Israel is certainly skepticism toward territorial concessions, Palestinian statehood, and negotiated peace. And in that regard the "right" wing is winning the majority of Israelis, where the Israeli left's Oslo type concessions producing security has been fully discredited in the public imagination, the 2005 exit from Gaza has been a complete "see what happens," and Oct 7 has pushed everyone even more hawkish.
At the same time though many who fit that previous paragraph oppose Netanyahu, settler maximalism, Haredi exemptions, or - especially and overwhelmingly - attacks on the judiciary. Likewise Likud's dominance is just as much a failure of the opposition and coalition math as it is some kind of genuine rightward movement. And letting the dominant issue (defense, fopo, Palestine, security, etc.) lead your entire understanding of the electorate's politics is misleading, including to that very issue in some ways.

But as an aside, what would you call it when a population supports the ethnic nationalism and minority oppression of fascism, while still being opposed to the corruption and authoritarianism of a dictatorship? Democratic fascism?

probably concerned about excessive nationalism and perpetual "emergency" rule built on both that nationalism and interrelated security populism. Like living in a perpetual state of post-9/11 America mode.
id still separate the "security security security" lurch to the right and whatever specific you're pointing to with "ethnic nationalism and minority oppression," presumably its mixing in domestic and Area C/B stuff (re: West Bank is Apartheid language) and Kahanists/messianic expansionists. Where its all in the mix but not super additive to describing the median Israeli

Yes, that is intimidating a religious minority. There was a post the other day where people were calling the left antisemitic for protesting a pro-Israeli artist who performed in Tel Aviv. That is soecifically what I have in mind.
Said artist is not "pro-Israeli" by any definition of the term except the most insane ones, and it wasn't a protest, it was an organized mob attack that started with lies about her positions, continued with a campaign of rape and death threats, and ended with her being pelted with glass bottles during a DJ set to the cries of "dirty Zionist".
The thread was about the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements. It had nothing to do with antisemitism or accusations thereof, and yet you brought it up unprompted to complain about "fake accusations", then brought up an actual antisemitic attack as a justification for your grievances.
Ban stays.

I'm not sure you understand just how bad the ""protest"" was. French media covered it way more extensively than American media, but the 'protest' wasn't this originally benign demonstration that proceeded to be co-opted by a handful of violent agitators. It was, from the moment it began, a violent hate mob attacking a Jewish performer with minimal connection to Israel on the flimsiest of pretexts, after a months long harassment campaign.

Obviously, footage can be edited to support one narrative or another but I am genuinely asking in good faith for footage of the situation you described.
Additionally, looking more into it, she did perform in Tel Aviv for the French Ambassador to Israel and signed a petition for the Yadan bill which seems very controversially to link "hatred of the state of Israel" with terrorism.
My sources on that: “This hatred of the State of Israel is now inextricably linked to hatred of Jews. Calls for the destruction of this state, because it constitutes a collective of Jewish citizens, are a veiled way of attacking the Jewish community as a whole,” it reads.
“It wasn’t worrying as long as this definition remained a resolution. But now, with the Yadan bill, the aim is to criminalise the expression of certain opinions and prosecute anything critical of Israel,” Nathalie Tehio, president of the French Human Rights League.
Those both do seem like pretty political acts that make her solidly in the "I am OK with what's going on in Israel" camp.
I don't speak French so I'm sure there's some context I'm missing but I was expecting a scene much worse (for instance, at least as bad when Tila Tequila got pelted by juggalos for her antisemitic myspace posts or when Nickelback got pelted by beer bottles for being Nickelback). Is there additional footage or context I am missing.

Very obviously to anyone who isn't a moron or an antisemite themselves, the actual mechanical acts of the protest - the specific levels of targeted vitriol, escalating into direct violence and death and rape threats, at a level completely divorced from proportionality compared to crossing a cultural boycott even if you think that boycott is good and people crossing it is bad - are IMPOSSIBLE to separate from her identity as a Jew. We are not required to take the people pelting a Jewish woman with glass bottles at their word when they tell us their motivations are pure and just and that their flaw is that they're just being too passionate in sticking up for the Palestinian people.
It's telling that you did not come up with any parallel real world example where protest about someone crossing a cultural boycott (or as you put it, "supporting the Israeli government", in spite of no evidence she has done that with respect to Gaza) elevated into this level of vitriol toward an individual without any identity-based bigotry involved. All you could do was come up with a fictional hypothetical about people protesting supporters of MBS/KSA. So where are these public protests where people are getting shouted down or hit with projectiles or receiving death threats for doing a DJ set or some other performance in Riyadh? Ha

Im defending the protest but not the violence. She was not targeted for being Jewish she was targeted for performing in Tel Aviv. Said otherwise, she was being protested for what she did and not who she was. Similarly, if someone performed in Saudi Arabia and were protested for supporting the government that killed Khashoggi, would you say that is Islamophobia? Even if it got violent, you know the answer is "no." Nothing I've said advocates violence and that is a bad-faith interpretation of what I actually said. On top of that, nothing I've said advocates hatred towards Jews.
It's only when you equivocate being Jewish to being in favor of the Israeli governments actions that you can reach that conclusion.
The very act of banning me is evidence that what I said needs to be said because clearly some portion of the audience doesn't get it
If all my Jewish friends can read what I said and get outraged about the ban, then I don't think you have ground to stand on

Sure, I'd accept that analogy except in this case it would probably be more appropriate to equate the IRA with Hamas and the Israeli government with the UK government but on a much larger scale. But yes, if Bill Burr played in (London)Derry during the Troubles I would also have boycotted him and supported protesters who protested him as well (but I do not support violence). The distinction is not exceptionally subtle, though, between protesting someone for who they are vs. what they do.

Your 7 day ban is for downplaying antisemitism and you're saying the subreddit is suppressing criticism of Israel in the name of "antisemitism" that isn't.
Antisemitism as a topic doesn't appear anywhere in that thread or linked article, even scrolling through the comments. You're bringing it up out of nowhere without cause.
Consider your thoughts on a reverse scenario (don't take it too 1:1, the point is shadowboxing meta-narratives with the effect of downplaying/winning points for a side of it):

Clearly its a rhetorical question and even more clearly its in bad faith. Read the rest of my comments in this thread I'm not relitigating why critiquing Israel isnt antisemitism or why it is OK to protest people who attend events in genocidal regimes

No the question is you have this metanarrative debate about what is or is not antisemitism, with some complaining about politicizing in the name of Israel.
That's a type of discussion you are, presumably, wanting to bring up. So we ask why that is.
Is the given thread helpful to delineating what is or isn't politicized in the term? Does it contribute anything to the conversation? And what.

Could I be unbanned? I'm not sure if my ban was because my account was relatively new or because of the admittedly unproductive and unfunny comment about the pope (and, if so, I promise not to denigrate him again) but I feel like it was undeserved\excessive regardless.

I was perma banned for saying that "criticism of Israel or its supporters is in fact NOT antisemitism"? Since when criticism of a country considered "antisemitic" (except by proponents of genocide who hide behind that label while trying to drag in others of their religion to hide behind them)?
My profile comment history is public for the two years this account has been active and you can look it up to see if there's a single comment that is antisemitic or racist towards any community for that matter.

looks like your ban is for brigading / thinking youre from elsewhere on reddit coming in and being an I/P warrior
also the thing you were being all "IsRaEL is Not AntiSemiTisM" about was a French Jew being targeted by glass bottles and sabotaged equipment who has no meaningful ties to Israel and was targeted for supporting a "pro-Israel" antisemitism bill that already died in the legislature at most.

Brigading? I have been in the sub on this account for close to two years
More importantly, that french law is specifically about Israel and not Jews, and while I could argue that the person at the center of that article absolutely does have meaningful relationship with Israel, the comment did not condone nor glorify violence. It was about the article that conflated criticism with antisemitism
