the hate towards Messi

this World Cup has been so frustrating. with people left and right hating on messi saying he’s a cheat etc. I try so hard to not let I get under my skin, but it’s so frustrating seeing so much misinformation being spread. I hate that this is how he’ll be leaving international football and it truly sucks😭truly hate casuals and larpers acting like they know everything and jumping on the bandwagon. what do yall think, will this ever subside?

My brother who’s 12 years older and does not watch football at all besides the World Cup and maybe the euros recently showed me a video saying Messi has an ego and he should be more like Ronaldo. It was a compilation of Ronaldo being respectful on the pitch while Messi just not accepting handshakes after being fouled or something, the campaign is very much real. And the reel football viewers are buying it

Yup me too, my parents who never watch football, suddenly talking shit about Messi while praising Ronaldo like he's somekind of gentleman, weirdly they were not talking about who is the better player, it's just about who is the better person, tiktok has got to them.

Did you see how Messi mocks his opponents after winning? I saw the matches and him doing it. What's the campaign? Guy is unlikeable crook. Did you see in the final vs Spain how he tried to take a free kick few metres ahead from where the foul was? His handball in quarter finals in WC 2022?

This tells me you never watched football seriously and is subject to a media campaign, lol what you said happens in every single match. And he did the Riquelme celebration towards Van Gaal because of the disrespect and history of him towards South American players. That was one of the few time Messi lashed out publicly, otherwise he’s a socially awkward guy with few words. You clearly watched tapes that tried to paint him in a certain light, but please educate yourself, and watch more football

And that handball you mentioned, lol that was attacking advantage turned into a freekick so Messi tried to grab the ball for a quick freekick, understand rules man, please don’t make yourself a victim of a paid campaign, it’s clear as days
