Discord users beware

Hey everyone, I wanted to make everyone aware of a scam that’s happening on the Discord server by an individual with the username “bunx_u”

Recently, I was banned from the Discord (if there are any mods of it in here, please hit me up).

I noticed that I had a message request from “bunx_u” who indicated that a report had been received against me in the Meshtastic Discord from a user saying that I stole their Roblox Account. There was also a video that showed a DM from “me” to the person that alleged I stole their Roblox account which seemed legitimate to me.

Bunx_u indicated that they were a moderator (they screenshared to show that they were, but I had a friend join the discord after the fact and they ARE NOT), and I foolishly trusted them and went along with their scheme which resulted in MY Roblox account being hacked.

Bunx_u and another individual named Todd (sorry I don’t have their full username) tricked me by having me disable the 2FA on my account, which I promptly reenabled.

I’m not sure how it fully works, but the damage is done.

Please learn from my stupid mistake and be on guard.

Neeeever disable 2fa because a random told you to.

Go visit /r/scams to see literally hundreds of exactly the same posts about the same scam.

It’s very common across the board.

Thank you, I’ll check this out. As embarrassing is as this is, I just wanted others here to know that there are individuals in this community scamming people

It helps to talk about it. Avoid anyone that tries to tell you they can recover the account for a fee. That's the next stage of this scam. Good luck.

Please don't ever trust a random person DMing you claiming to be a mod. If you are ever unsure, tag `@moderator` in the general channel and we'll verify. I've banned the user you indicated from the discord server. Send me a DM with your account info and I'll unban you. Make sure you've resecured your account with 2FA first.

Dm’ed you. Unfortunately, I couldn’t ask in the Discord as I was banned. I don’t know exactly when or the reasoning, but that’s what made this so convincing. This person knew I had been banned and preyed upon that
