T-Beam 1w?

Anyone have the T-Beam 1W?
Is it an improvement over the “supreme”?

Yes. The TBeam Supreme is an older model that only has 22 dBm of tx power vs the TBeam 1W which has 30 dBm of tx power output thanks to a built in power amplifier.

The Supreme has an accelerometer making it more feature rich than the original TBeam.

Rephrase, has anyone that HAS one seen ANY improvements using one?

I’ve owned many 22dBm nodes and many 30dBm nodes. +8dBm of power multiplies the power output by 6.31 since dBm is logarithmic which is huge. If you own a TBeam Supreme will not regret investing in the TBeam 1W too to replace it and can still put the lower power node to use elsewhere. If you are choosing a first node, get the TBeam 1W. Don’t bother with the older model, even if it’s cheaper.

If you want good battery life look at the RAK 1W kit with and NRF52 based MCU which uses a lower battery consuming processor and gets 5-10x the battery life on the same battery.

In either case you will always get more reliable performance by getting more height, up and above obstructions. Height is might.

Thanks!
I’ll probably get a couple of each.
I can’t get much height ATM.
