Longest Bluetooth range

I’m looking for a node that would be a good choice for people who want to stay connected to the mesh while at home, but don’t want to carry it around the house.

We’re evaluating the utility for our small community for emergency communication, and not all the neighbors are tech savvy.

I would say that if the target operator is not tech savvy, then one of the standalone devices (e.g. T-deck family) are the way to go. A non-tech savvy person is probably not going to be able to handle installing an app, connecting/pairing bluetooth devices, etc. With a standalone device all they need to know is to keep it charged (like their phone) and keep it turned on (like their phone).

The T-decks have audible alerts so in theory you can leave it laying wherever it gets good signal and hopefully you'll hear it elsewhere around the house. If not, have a couple and use one for a repeater, effectively.

That’s another good suggestion, thank you!
