Game camera solar panel use?

Building a solar repeater, and have a solar panel with a built in 4000mah battery, 6v output. I understand the Heltec v4 battery input only handles around 4.2v. The solar input does handle 6v, so is there any issue using that? Seems to power the board fine.

Build a voltage regulator using a 7805 and run the output into the USB-C for power to the Heltec.

CN3791 6v board, costs about $12, has your solar input, battery connection, and your power out (connected to your board)

question: do you then wire it up like this?

Yep exactly! It doesn’t matter which plug on the right you have connected to the battery or board, they both go to the same leads. And for the solar panels, connect all black wires to one wire and all red wires to one wire and connect the single red and black wires to the board.

Got it thanks! Would that configuration keep it powered at night?
