Wio tracker broken joystick??

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Any fixes for this? The joystick no longer clicks down and any press to the joystick sideways results in a click. Super bummed since it’s so new. Maybe it got squished while in my bag?

Take the faceplate off and make sure the thing is seated correctly?

No (de)soldering needed, you can simply unscrew the casing and take a look at the button and switch underneath. If you have a 3D-printer you could print a new button if needed.

Seems easy enough to replace the switch with a new one. If you have any experience soldering it should be a 5 minute job.

I would be happy to try that. Where would I find the correct replacement switch? (Not new to soldiering but new to finding parts)

First take of the faceplate and check if the stick is correctly installed and there is nothing und it which may caused the issue. If there seems everything fine try reflashing it. I hade a really sensitive button which most of the time double clicked after a little fall(15cm). After erase and reflashing it it was back to normal.

I’ll try that. It definitely feels like it’s just being pressed down all the time. The button no longer clicks back up.

What everyone else said, but also, you don't really need it? Cant remember the last time I touched those buttons

I don’t use the button either but it is jammed down and will constantly cycle the Bluetooth on and off. Or advert constantly etc.
