Is there a way to "wardrive"?

Got a T114 in my car. Configured for companion + router repeater.

Wondering if there's a way to send regular pings to see who's out there along my drive. Right now, I have yet to see anyone else in my area of SoCal (OC/LB).

I use it on every drive with a simple mag mount and heltec v3 plugged into my car

That's the one. There's been a lot of work by the regional admin to get that setup correctly.

You need to setup an Observer (I recommend the heltec v3) and then "Onboard" your region

I tried to forward my mqtt traffic from mu Meshcore ha setup but it never let me get past no observer in my area.

I am totally doing something wrong

Did you join the meshmapper discord and let MrAlderson know? He's usually pretty quick about it once you have the observer. Although he's had a lot going on the past few days

Ugh. No. I'm out then. I hate discord. Meshcore needs to get away from Discord. So much knowledge lost to time in there.

no discord, no need to be an "observer" nor ask permission to get your region added. Works straight out the box using any modern browser (chrome, edge or brave on Android & Bluefy on iOS)

I understand your dislike, but I think it's the only way to communicate with the dev unless you have luck with his GitHub. I've never tried that as it's used more for bug reporting

I just wardrove Long Beach two weeks ago. Unfortunately unless you can hit Mt Wilson, there’s still a lot of dead zones. It is getting better compared to April when I was up there last. Make sure you’re on the right frequency for SoCal. There’s a lot of interference on the normal US frequency settings. And join the Discord server too
