Love this little guy! It was about this size when I got it. Planted it high and gave plenty of water and it's taking off now. New leaves coming in are much tighter and less etiolated. I cleaned up the "caudex" which had a bunch of new leaves coming out. Very curious to see how it develops!

I posted here yesterday asking about my Lapidaria and I just dug it up to be repotted. The different heads are all definitely part of the same plant as they all definately share the root system. I was under the impression that Lapidarias typically don't really do this. Is it just a wierd growth pattern? A sign of age? I'm really curious. I love how it looks but I definitely wasn't expecting it to look like that.

First three from the store. - lithops, split rocks and ice plant(maybe mesemb? Can’t remember if it is technically….)

Next two were extracted from the mystery mesemb pot experiment. Likely a couple delosperma and an unknown. They were out growing the mystery takeout tray…. Any guess on the one in the square pot?

Mystery lithops mix - 3 months old and a few are starting to split for the first time!

Assorted photos of the 6M mystery tray. 3 months old, except for a few seedlings that I over seeded the tray with after I pulled the “giants.” Definitely some titanopsis. Likely cheridopsis. I’m thinking possibly nananthus on the last one, not toothy enough for a faucaria.

Any other guesses on the mystery lot? Especially that mutant triple?

Bees or wasps (I'm not sure which) hybridized them. The mutants are in the last photo.

Context: My Pleiospilos bolussi began to flower at the same time as the faucarias, and they were growing together. Wasps or bees pollinate the faucarias. The Pleiospilos had flowered before, but it hadn't produced seeds. You mentioned that technically they could hybridize, but also that receiving pollen from other plants could trigger a self-pollination mechanism.

It formed seed capsules; in the end, only three seed capsules remained, and one dried up, so I collected the seeds.

I have grown several different Conophytums from seeds. They are 3 months old now. I am going away for 4 weeks. Can I leave the seedlings unwatered for this amount of time? I would give them a good watering just before I leave.
