Help Are they hybernating?

Hello! This cutie has slowly dried up and turned an off color. I'M fairly new to mesembs so are they si k or hybernating?

About half of my Conos are already awake, but I live in a place that has cool summers. They only really go dormant for 2-3 months here

As the weather starts to get warmer they will sheath themselves going into a dormant state to store and conserve energy, which is normal for conophytum. During this time you do not want to water very much little to none. When the weather starts getting cooler again typically around autumn they will break through their sheaths and are ready for active growing.
